X3:Terran Conflict has arrived

Ahh, thats the way, so that doesn't involve paying one of those commodity agents then, thats a different process?

Superb VoG, once again sorting me right out.

aslong as you own both station that your collecting from & the station your delivering to, then the only payments involved will be crew payments to your pilot. when you do set up your CAG, in the options, set reporting to on i think it is, that way it will sound an audio warning if he's under attack, & you might well get time to save his rear end.

Now 2 weeks later and thinks are progressing.
i finished the terran plot yesterday, but seem to have stumbled onto some form of issue.

When I am flying a vidar, pimped to max speed 128, supported by a cutlass (max speed 173) and the cutless is set to follow or to protect, anytime we travel under autopilot the max speed appears to be fixed at 97, not at close to the 128 I would expect of the ship I am piloting.

I haven't found this with any previous wings. Anyone aware of any bugs with speed? Or settings I have incorrectly stated?

You should be travelling at the speed of the slowest ship (the Vidar) you sure you dont have a freighter or something with orders to follow you or the cutlass?

Check your property menu for ships with follow or protect orders.

Oh good shout shadez
I don't recall setting anything like that up, but i did cap a few things, so it's possible one is on follow and hundreds of sectors away, must have a look thru when I get home tomorrow

Just got back into this. :)

I'm struggling to make my stations largely profitable at the moment. They're in reasonable positions I think, and I've got ships supplying them and selling goods from them. But they don't seem to make me as much money as if I just sent the ships off trading.

Anyone fancy giving away their station secrets? :)

Well weed and booze setup in the unknown sector seems to do nicely

I have a bofu plant which should do well in kingoms end but unfortunately i had no cag software so the muppt sells locally and minimally, must address that soon

1mj shields in argon prime do very nicely, i ave 4

anywhere you can get around 60 yield in total for silison you can setup completely independant loops and have them product whatever you like
as part of the hub questline i built a loop in ore belt, and then attached 10 teledinium factories, rubbish for localised profits but great for completeig the bulk requirement

earlier in this thread an argon based loop was discussed, you can do it with other races also

factories galaxy wide will be my next big interest i think

Shadez, it appeared a docked ship in one of th stations with orders of 'standby' was the culprit, and must have been tied to my cutlass in some way. Anyway, changing its orders to 'none' got my autopilot speed back.
Good shout indeed.

Glad to be of service :D

Now the real question is how a ship with standby orders effects the auto pilot?

Standby is a order that allows the ship to move about so all ships linked with him would be effected by his speed but how is he linked to you? Is he set as a wingman or part of a wing?

Strangely not.
It was a ship I capped, a hauler, and then sent to dock at a station.
It was never part of a wing, and never assigned any other orders, i can only assume that a follow me, order followed by a navigate to and dock order then left the ship on standby, rather than on 'stop'.

i see there's been a new update released

Updates to X3: Terran Conflict have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:

Fixed occasional freeze issue in the Balance of Power mission
Fixed case where the Balance of Power achievement may not unlock
Some minor mission fixes
Fixed some map issues (for new games only)
Several text fixes
Fixed blank messages when object names are coloured by mods
Fixed several passenger transport missions which could break in some circumstances
Added Cargo Lifesupport System to Boron Angel

that passenger transport mission fix is most welcome, ive had a number of aborted OTAS transport missions because my passenger has flatly refused to recognise any one of my transport ships has CLS installed.

TNBT (The next big thing) is in the works, I expect an announcement sometime this year and closer to now than the winter. Latest X-Universe News has some hints towards that. (Plus I am mentioned *blows own horn*)

And no its not X4 but it is a space sim.

Now, does he mean X4 as in the sequel to X3 or does he mean X4 as in the genre.

that a way of saying better flight physics but dumbed down economy?

Dont think they will dumb down the economy, its one of the big selling points of the game.

Flight physics are ok, not much work to do there. What i hope for is a vastly improved AI, that doesn't create wingmen you like to crash into you.

In other news my economy in the game has really grown immensely and I'm now earning a few million an hour:D. Currently I'm setting up SSP L complexes which will be providing energy for various factories/complexes. I also finished my first plot (Goners) so am well chuffed! And finally, everyone should get a Split Tiger armed with IBL's and Flak arrays, just started doing the final fury plot and my Tiger annihilates everything in its path:cool:.
