I got lost in X3 Terrain Conflict for a long time.

Only had a few hours in X4 Foundations, I only have the base game - need to pick up the dlcs (not sure how many there are now) because I missed having Split ships.

Thr Split Vendetta DLC is 70% off (just £3.74) at the moment, so now is a good time to pick it up.

I brought X4 nearly 2 years ago and still have never gotten round to playing it! Loved ED and JG but every time I read about X4 the amount of apparent time and lsteep learning curve puts me off trying lol.

It's probably for the best as once you taste of this forbidden fruit it will suck you in wholesale.

Having said that the learning curve can be as steep as you want it to be. At its heart is an arcadey space combat game that I have spent many, many hours just doing quests and missions with only a tiny amount of empire building.
Once you step outside that side of the game you can expect a bit more effort to setup and control a massive empire and just watch the money roll in.

Been putting in a few hours, not been following any guides, just been exploring and doing some missions.
Managed to save up enough cash for a Nova Vangaurd.

Just a "Find a lockbox" mission that's driving me crazy at the moment. Going around the area pinging like mad and I still can't find it.

Addicted again. Bought myself a Pulsar Vanguard.
I really should have saved my money, but it's got 6 guns!

Got 3mil credit saved up and not sure on what to spend them on. Get a trader or a miner.
Need to sit down and start reading/watching guides.

Prepare to navigate the complex landscape of interstellar politics with the upcoming Diplomacy Update for X4: Foundations Later this year, this free base game update will introduce new strategic elements, allowing players to engage in diplomacy like never before.

At the heart of this update is the Embassy, a new facility where Diplomats can be brought together to represent their various factions. Players will also gain access to Agents, who can be deployed on independent assignments to achieve diplomatic objectives within the X universe.

With these new tools, you will be able to influence alliances and rivalries alike, shaping the political and economic balance of the galaxy.

I just find it amazing they keep putting the development time into this.

I've not properly played this for maybe 3 years now but I'm looking forward to getting back into it at some point and checking everything out.
