I know this is off topic but need some help.my ssd has started to boot into windows really slow like the icons take a while to show up on task bar usually its instant but lately its being a bit slower than usual and im thinking of reinstalling windows to see if that fixes it any suggestions would be gratefull cheers crash

Hiya guys developed abit of a strange hiccup on my OC my base clock frequency instead of being
129 which is set in the bios its only going to 127.5
you can see my screen shots of my 4.5 ghz OC on page 5 of this thread so instead of 4.5ghz im only getting 4.3-4.4

ive tried going into bios reloading saved profile, entering it manually, I even flashed my bios, and copied settings from page 5 since my Profile save to usb didn't work
Is strange I thought id check asusa AI suite monitor readings and it says im at 4.5ghz could cpu z be the issue ive re installed it twice and still says same as first picture

Nvm fixed it reset to defaults followed my previous settings and they took even manage to get up 4.7 below 1.4 volts but im happy with 4.5 at 1.3v, 1v for 200mhz isn't worth it lol

CPU Z is always reliable for me providing you use latest version.
Glade you fixed it though and your correct to back off when you need so much extra for stability the chip is saying its at its limits.

Yeah 8Pack advice was Legendary as always, helped me to get the 4820K at 5Ghz without much hassle.

I can't get MemTweak it to work on 8.1. Anyone know a way around this?

Which version you have?
Because if remember correctly sometime in the past, Asus had the latest version for download only on the Hero motherboard section, not the others. And that was only version that was running on W8.
Was a post around here (forums) also about it, many months ago also.
Maybe check the ROG forums?

Make sure you've set Size of All Items to small or large otherwise Memtweak doesn't show for some reason

Or try an older version matt, some work some dont.
Try clocking from Bios dont worry about mem tweak it.

Yeah have been. Here are my current timings. Anything you suggest i can improve on? Cpu only at 4.5ghz so far, but everything seems nicely stable. I will up the cpu more once ive finished tuning the memory.
I wanted to use mem tweak it so i can see my efficiency score.

I wondered that mate. I also noticed that they appear to have a lot of vdroop. I have the dram power 4 pin power supply connected. I have to add extra voltage to the first dram to get them roughly even. I also use the extra cpu power connect. Unfortunately i don't have a spare 6 pin to go the pci-e lanes extra power. My 1000W super plat does not come with an extra 6 pin. Maybe the 1300W model will that is coming tomorrow.
