X800 GTO2 Thread, post your mods and clocks here.

I would unlock just not straight away because of the whole warrenty jazz. I was just wondering is all. But thanks for the comment I think I will get the GTO2, i just hope there still in stock for when i get paid. :P
 
Well it seems my problem was of my own making; I was too cautious in not using the -f option to force the flash as everyone else was doing. So can report another successful 16 pipe unlock.

The 3DMark05 scores:

Stock(400/490) 12p = 4351 16p = 4931

XT (520/540) 12p = 5321 16p= 5963

XTPE (540/590) 12p = 5568 16p = 6249 (not stable)

test (550/621) 12p = 5731 16p = No chance!

Best stable so far (535/580) 16p = 6138

So i'm v happy considering i almost bought a 6600GT for £30 less :D
I must admit the reduction in the Max clock speeds I can get after the unlock was a surprise, is this to be expected?
If I can get more out of it great but its nice and future proof for me, so thanks to everyone at OcUK, this forum and whoever is responsible for the AtiTool.

I suspect my psu may have something to do with it, x-pro 460watt tho all the voltage rails seem fine :(

Or it could be to do with the expox bord, concidering overvolting the pcie bus a bit to see if it helps.

A friend of mine purchased two Connect3D X800GTO in the hope that one of them would unlock to 16pp, turns out both do :) I'm borrowing one to see how it compares to my GTO2, can anyone tell me if it's safe to just swap them over, or do I need to uninstall the GTO2, run a driver cleaner etc. etc. first?

no artefacts or anything, 3dmark05 score...:

I think i can squeeze a little more out yet, Im still working on overclocking my opteron as well (got that at 2900, dont think thats stable yet), but my memory timings can probably be tightened up a bit.

Good week for value for money stuff for me ;) 144 opteron above fx speeds and then this x800 :D

core clock: 600.8
memory clock 614.3
(might be a little more i can get here as well)

So that was C3D X800GTO? I think "omfg" would be the standard response to that 3DMark05 score :D Can you shed any light on my driver question above?

dunno tbh, all i did was take out my old 6600gt, uninstall the drivers, put the 800 in, installed the drivers from the disk, flashed the bios then installed the latest drivers from the ati site.. cant say any more than that as i was rushed - doing it at about 3 am having switched mobos and other nonsense.

havent checked my gpu temps yet, but thing is, last night i was messing around with my sonic tower and case fans, i strapped one of these http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Delta_Fans_58.html (the 120mm) onto 1 side of the sonic tower, a 50 cfm fan in the middle, and another 3 fans (2 in 1 exhaust) on my case. Didnt run em on full power (it hurts my ears) but theres a lot of air being moved and i think a lot of this is cooling the gfx card as well..

my cpu temps with the side of my case off yesterday (so i could fully appreciate the beauty of the sound :eek: ) were 30/31 deg fully loaded @ 1.55 v

Bob you should buy yourself a bottle of bubbly, that overclock is absolutely insane. I can only get 540mHz out of my core before it starts crashing, never mind 600mHz, and mine is considered an amazing success. :D

Just fired mine up, it's a new system build so haven't tweaked much yet:

Opteron 146 @2.5ghz (250x10)
2GB OCZ PC4000 EB
Sapphire GTO2

All Stock (2.0ghz 12 pipes)
3dM05 - 4448

O/C CPU (2.5ghz 12 pipes)
3dM05 - 4563

O/C CPU and Unlocked (2.5ghz 16 pipes)
3dM05 - 5142

Just running ATITool now and the Max Core has tripped out at 547mhz, max mem is currently 614mhz, will try and run it 3dM05 540 and 610 and see what happens. :D

3D Mark 2005 16pipes stock 4934
3D Mark 2005 16pipes 520/540 5914 :)

540/610 BSOD'd straight away.

Went for 530/600 instead and got a nice 6476. Lovely job. :D

I know my CPU goes up to 2.9ghz so might start pushing it a little further. >6500 3D Marks would just finish it off nicely.

Sounds exactly like mine, try 530/630 next. I think there's more left on memory but I can't be bothered trying TBH, more interested in the core and 540 seems to be my limit but I'm more than happy with it. :)
