Yeah 1 in 5 chance that you will get a duff console. Not good odds. Gonna wait a bit longer till I get my 360 I think, see what happens.

Just... no. The numbers and type of people voting here aren't a good basis for throwing out statistics like that..

Up to 34 now, and thats just here on OcUK, and still some ppl say its nothing.

Again, same thing... such small numbers it's going to give stupidly high failure rates.

36 now, also wonder what it will be like when we hit the Summer, if they are going down because of heat issues etc..., then if we get a good hot Summer, well thats it, they'll all go **** up.

What about the people in the states, who have had hotter weather there than we most likley get in the summer? Complete non-issue.

I'm not saying 360's aren't breaking, of course they are - but you people are making it out to be something outrageously bad, which it really isn't.
 
I have never had one single problem with my 360 nor have any of my close friends and family around 12 360s working 100% fine from day release in all

You can't get a real number for reliability on a computing forum, a lot of people here are really into technology and as a result, those who have failing ones will inevitably post on here to mention it.

A lot (I would guess over 90%) won't be rushing to a forum to complain and as a result are unheard of. I wish people would let it rest, I really do. Seeing around 4 threads like this on the main page is really ****ing me off now.
 
I will vote if and when I have mine for a month, til then it's not worth it. But to the touch nothing is really getting warm/hot. Must say I'm really impressed with the dashboard.
 
Mine's dead now :( Bought in December and now i'm getting the 3 red quadrants. Microsoft support have been great on the other hand so i'm not that dejected.

Any way of keeping my saved games without buying a memory card?
 
I've not sent my xbox back but i would say its not problem free. In oblivion I've had disk read errors yet when checking the disk its clean.
 
Well it's known on the forums that i'm on my 2nd 360 and it's been faultless up until lastnight......3 times during playing Tomb Raider the system totally hung up, it then hung up once on boot up at the 360 screen before the dash then again playing the FN3 demo.....

I wouldn't be reading too much into it if it happened a couple of times in a couple of days but 5 times within an hour or so.....I think it could be on its way out :( :o
 
Without tempting fate ... that's what mine did. GRAW kept freezing after a couple of minutes, then it started with DVD's, then I was getting the red quadrats.
 
I'll run it into the ground tonight with G.R.A.W and see if i can make it freeze......Only way to tell if it was a glitch or knackered tbh :o
 
Well thats my 2nd 360 now laid to rest....It was constantly freezing during games and even on boot up at the spinning 360 ball......

What a difference a few months make, Customer Support on my first console was a shambles but this time the guy was top class....

M$ have changed the way it gets returned though...They email me the labels, i print them and box the thing myself....Phone DHL, they collect and return....I also keep my HDD and only send the console and power supply.....Tad gutted tbh

3rd time lucky i guess :(
 
i just sit safe in the knowledge if it does balls up for the 2nd time and its out of the "3 month warranty" Virii will be able to tell me what to say/ who to complain to to get another one free or discounted
 
The way the holidays and work has been i can't get mine picked up till this Friday....Will be like 2 weeks all in all till i get it sorted.....Think i shall be contacting MS as so far i've lost roughly about 5 weeks of my Live Subscription during the downtime of both consoles i have had.....Not very fair i don't think, hopefully get some compo :D
 
Only problem i have is that 2 of my game disks have cracked :mad:

Ridge Racer 6 and Project Gotham Racing 3. Ridge Racer 6 still works but Project Gotham Racing 3 will not work at all.

My 360 was standing up when the games cracked. I now have the system laying down and all seems to be fine at the moment.

Think i will try and get it replaced before my years warrenty runs out though.

So yes, i have a problem but i aint sent it back YET
 
I exchanged my launch day 360 back in Feb after it started crashing all the time. Not had any real problems with the new one, its hung twice I think - once in NFS and once on the dashboard. Glad I changed it.
