**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

LOL do you buy lot's of 2nd hand games then? I imagine the price of 2nd hand games will take into account of the activation fee therefore you won't be out of pocket.

Yeah in comparison to PC gaming that was the redeeming feature of console gaming, cheap used games, lending your games to your mates, the fact your games had resale value.. Now the Xbox will have inferior graphics, more expensive games, no resale value and you have to pay extra to play your games online..

It is bonkers, Xbox will die, Quote me in a few years lol.

PS4 and Wii U will dominate the console space. You heard it here first :D:p:)

PC gaming will remain the king..

The 'fee' would have to be close to the retail price, if not the same.

Otherwise you have people buying one copy retail, then passing it around all their friends who just pay the 'fee' instead.

Therefore there is no incentive to sell 2nd hand copies, as you will not be able to charge hardly anything for them. No incentive to sell = no 2nd hand market.

ill wait for the slim revision, that thing looks massive
Don't think i'm that hard up for space in the house that a few cm will make a difference :) On the bright side I guess that's what's allowed them to cool it properly and have it run "near silent" which is going to be a requirement if it's going to be a general media machine as well.

Some rage from gamers but if it plays games as well as the PS4 and adds IE/Skype/TV etc. it'll do well. Having IE integrated and 1080p res could make for a good web browsing experience, email etc. Add things like the Office web apps/Google apps and maybe a keyboard/chatpad and you have a pretty decent all round "PC" plus a stonking next gen console on top of the media features for around (and I'm guessing) under £400.

If it can combine and control Sky/Virgin in the UK as well it could make for a quite compelling under TV box.

As someone who is primarily a PC gamer but would play my 360 ahead of my PS3 that press conference did nothing for me. All the media stuff seemed pointless, given that we're outside of the US and a quality tv will do a fair amount of that anyway. Oh and a pile of EA Sports dross, woohoo!

Based on what we've seen so far I think my first next gen purchase is almost certainly going to be the PS4.

I hate the way they had an entire section on the "XBox Architecture", and didn't tell us what was inside the box :p

Architecture = Kinect + Controller + SmartGlass, apparently...

Oh dear games didnt seem to be a big focus for them at all, have they learned nothing about what gamers think of motion/kinect

Obviously we have e3 soon, they need to impress me i left that stream very underwelmed

Why are people declaring their loyalty to xbox/ps4 when we still haven't seen anywhere near enough to make make an informed choice (I know the answer, just highlighting how ridiculous they look :D )

The only thing I would say is I am not convinced the av side is ever going to be their selling point. People will buy them as a games console first and foremost.

It is after spending the last decade calling the first xbox "xbox 1" when talking about it and the 360.

I mean, no ones calls the first playstation just "the playstation." We all refer to it has being the ps1.

Well, Sony did rebrand the Playstation to PSone when the smaller slim model came out
