**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

Tbh anybody at this point defending this abysmal crap is simply an Xbox fanboy. No real gamers can defend this crap.

I don't think anyone needs to defend it, plenty of people will however just see no problem with it as they have their current consoles hooked up to the net all the time anyway and will not even notice a change.

^ this.
Dilemma for me, I prefer the MS exclusives to the sony ones (this gen at least, and i cant see it changing) and massively prefer the 360 controller to the PS3 one (and cant see this changing next gen either), yet the PS4 seems to 'fit my needs' in all other areas better

Going to have to buy both again .. expensive :/

I'm serious. Everything about this is so anti consumer, that even if it doesn't directly affect you, you should still be against the whole concept and idea of what they are trying to do.

In general, everything is going 'anti consumer' - look at Adobe and their creative cloud subscription being the only way to access new software for example

It's clearly the first step to digital content being the main way to get your games, you can drag your heels and kick and scream if you want but it won't halt the progress.

Are you against the way the PS Vita deals with games? locked to an account when bought digitally not the console, carts that if put in another machine wipe the data so if you loan a friend a game you lose all your progress.

I agree.

I can understand the argument against 'always-on' drm for PC games, due to those instances when someone will play on laptops in areas with limited connections e.g. planes/trains.

I view the console as a static device in the living room, so internet connection availability shouldn't be an issue.

I assume the only 'losers' are those that work in areas with no or restricted net connection (remote construction sites or armed forces are what come to mind).

Waaaaa waaa waa.

If there weren't so many dishonest people out there stealing the content, we wouldn't have any of this problem.

The maturity of some of the people in this thread, cant OcUK have an age check implemented or something? I mean, "Xbone" ? really?
Is this the latest 'cool' internet put-down now iSheep is out of fashion ?

Or if Devs wouldn't release rubbish games and expect them to sell really well. If games are good enough they usually sell well. The good games that normally don't sell are down to publishers not advertising enough.

It's always easy to blame the consumers for games not selling well but who is really going to buy a steaming pile of turd? or a game they have seen no info about? They need to spark peoples interest in there game, make it stand out.

I really hope the xbox falls on its face for all this crap and ms realise when people pay £300-£400 for something they should actually be able to play it whenever and wherever they want.

By Microsoft?

Microsoft will probably never release the actual specs themselves, but it's just general knowledge now.

The leaked hardware specs were pretty much spot on for both consoles, apart from the late decision 8GB GDDR5 for PS4.

The fact Microsoft only said 8GB Memory, pretty much confirms its DDR3, if it was GDDR5 they would have explicitly said in the reveal.

As for the GPU, the leaked documents are the only thing to go off, but considering how much was right about them, its hard to doubt it. It would be to late to do a hardware upgrade this late in the development.

We shouldn't be punished for other people stealing games. If you accept what Microsoft is doing here it's the start of a slippery slope, they are going to see they can get away with this and start taking away more and more rights from the consumer until it affects you as well.
