**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

OLD INFORMATION.... but:

Top 5 Pirated Xbox 360 Games

1. Gears of War 3 (890,000) (Sept. 2011)
2. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (830,000) (Nov. 2011)
3. Battlefield 3 (760,000) (Oct. 2011)
4. Forza Motorsport 4 (720,000) (Oct. 2011)
5. Kinect Sports: Season Two (690,000) (Oct. 2011)

Hardly "rubbish" games.

And look how well they still sold.

Used Games - It's unacceptable that we should be restricted in this area, consoles have always been about sharing the games and selling them on. (PC's have always been different in this area)

You must be young? otherwise how can you forget installing a single copy of Quake 2, UT, Diablo 2 (to an extent) to LAN over 6-8 computers.

Theft indicates intent to deprive. You're wrong.

Oh, breaking out the letter of the law now are we. Surprised you haven't linked the theft act in.

It's irrelevant what the letter of the law says, we all know that piracy is wrong and does deprive the makers from payment.

You're kidding yourself if you think you're looking smart trying to claim it's not ethically wrong.

Quite frankly, you're just being a doorknob if you really believe that downloading a game and playing it, without paying any consideration for it, is not in principle theft.

It's not really theft though is it? Hence the differing terminologies for it.

What's the issue with actually referring to it by its correct terminology rather than the emotionally charged title of "theft"?

It doesn't change what is happening just because you insist on it being called theft, the very same actions are taking place.

Grow up, stop trying to hide behind a veil of baloney, there's nothing clever about it.

What's age got to do with anything?

Nothing clever about it? What are you on about?

Why not answer the questions I asked? If you view something on youtube that someone has uploaded without permission from the copyright holder, is it stealing?

Of course the law is relevant, you're using legal terms.

Why not call all forms of assault and battery, attempted murder? They both involve physical violence, right?

It's analogous to what you're doing with your emotionally charged "theft" rants.

I'd love to know why you're defending such action. Does it make you sleep better at night?

Why SHOULD anyone upload something to youtube without someone elses permission?

I know for sure the first thing that would cross my mind when uploading ANYTHING there would be "Is it mine to upload and would anyone be offended?"

Maybe I'm just brought up better.

And look how much better they would have sold if they hadn't been pirated.

What am I looking at? Got some actual figures saying those people who pirated those games would have bought them new? Bet loads of them were pirated well after release, so it's likely they would have been bought second hand... And as stated the pubs and devs see none of that money.

Im 23, so I'm quite young yes. I like how you ignored all my other points though.

Honestly, the negativity in this thread just screams 'bitter PS fanboy' who's letting out 6+ years of inferior multi-plat title rage out. :p
No, this negativity is being seen all over the internet in essentially every single gaming forum. Why? Because all of this is bad for gamers. As i said before the majority people defending all of this are Xbox fanboys

How does my calling you out for BS constitute a defense?

I didn't say it isn't ethically wrong, but it should be obvious even to you that there's a need to get the terminology correct.

Your childish, argumentative attitude on these forums is going to earn you a place on my ignore list shortly, I suspect.

I was being sarcastic...

No no, i'm saying 1 does equal 1.

Why would anyone go to the effort of downloading 5GB of a game, burn it onto DVD / Hack their Xbox, if they didn't want to play the game.

If they've gone to all that effort, it's pretty clear they're doing it because they want it but don't want to pay for it.

Anyone doing it knows it's wrong, and it's actually disgusting that people can actually sit there defending it.

lol, Pull the other one. Yesterday you posted a spoiler in The Last Of Us thread just to annoy everyone.

How in any way was it a spolier. It was simply my thoughts after reading the reviews.

I didn't realise everyone else suffered from a severe lack of imagination.

Why on earth would I try to spoil peoples enjoyment....!
