**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

Come on Sony, we're waiting for you now...

So many eye's on Sony now. Sony could easily win this up coming gen now. Yeah they might lose EA but that for loads of people that would be a plus judging by how much EA seem to be hated on here and by gamers.

Plus if the Sony won by miles EA would come running back.

I'm finding this all hard to believe after how many years I've loved my 360, this could become the ultimate target for hackers. They take that down and my god imagine the fallout :D

MS gaming divison might end up pipping EA to most hated company next year

Hell it even let EA off the hook with the online pass, there PR guys must have been creaming themselves whne they realised that. .

I said before I didn't have an issue with the EA online pass. I thought it was a great idea for getting money back from pirates.

Doesn't seem so bad now hey guys? :D

At the end of the day, this is just Steam for consoles except you will be able to give/trade games. I'm sure everyone will get used to it in a couple of years. :D

I'll punch you in the face everyday but you will get used to it right?

No that is the complete wrong attitude, throw your rights away.

If Sony do this same **** I wont be buying that either and will settle for PC/Wii U.

The big game crash 2013.

It was no accident that MS chose to include CoD and Fifa in the reveal. The publishers want to kill off pre-owned and if they are given the facility to do it - on both the new consoles - then they certainly will do it.

We are basically being milked dry by micro$oft and their crap publishers. I find it funny, that you now need internet connection just to play on the xbox. If you want to play a multiplayer on an xbox, you have to pay again for xbox live.

So really what you need to do is buy an xbox (around £400), a game (cost around £30-50) and then xbox live another (£30, but wait...This will surely go up with this gen, I expect live to be about £40-£45 this time around).

What a rip off, so that you can occasionally play a game, when you are not working.

Thanks to all the idiots who originally supported xbox live and made it grow. Now the same people are bitching about this, but what did you guys expect, showing micro$oft what they can get away with, its only a matter of time before they are gonna come up with a new system to charge people, because they know they can get away with it.

Of course sony will do the same, they are forced to do it now. Even if they don't want to, since micro$oft is supporting it, all the publishers have to say to sony, include this **** DRM, or you we won't publish our games on your system, same as EA has done to the Wii U, but obviously for different reasons.

A console without the EA, Activision and Ubisoft support is dead in the water. Hardly anyone is gonna buy a PS4, if it doesn't have COD, FIFA, Madden etc.

See I will miss a few of their games but all in all I wouldnt be that bothered if EA/COD went exclusive to a console, Id expect more of the idiots to revolve around that particular console and might just make the other a nicer place to be. Id hate to be a developer that works for EA for a MS exclusive, can imagine the hoops to jump if that alliance did happen

What I just dont get is that to win me as a gamer all MS had to do was support in-house developers and make IPs that make the console shine, I just have no taste for them to throw money around to third parties just to get a timed exclusive or an incidental exclusive, to me thats pretty insulting. I love Forza and think its one of the best exclusives this generation, I just dont see why they dont appear to want to nuture more...

Ive never really been someone that accepts things at face value, I quite happily stopped watching F1 live when it went to Sky and all its done is just made me a casual fan, I dont particular miss it. So appeasing publishers ahead of gamers that make both those entities the obscene profits they make just seems 'self-destructive'. Yes reducing piracy and monesation of second hand sales is important, but to apply such measures across the userbase to something we all love as a simple pastime just feels pretty unfair and hard to swallow, its not hard to see why its such a negative knee-jerk reaction.

ps3ud0

Madness rules again at MS

So I can see the benefit of all that cloud stuff but say I pop round a friends and say to him - if I log on we can play the latest AAA game that I have "in the cloud" - oh wait you need to download 10+Gbs of game first - even on fast connections this isnt going to happen in a hurry

Also the Xbone is only listening for the voice command "Xbox on" in low power mode. So its not listening to everything said then - processing conversations for that command. Potentially with the Internet cable stuck in the back and the Kinnect thing plugged in its only a piece of software away from joining whats happening in your roon to the cloud.

With the privacy thing about Kinnect collecting data you can be sure that when you accept the agreement when you download software or new games that this will be in the t&c's. Your choice will be to accept it or not to use that software

Think my PC will be getting an overhaul

You can just take your disc 'round. (Unless you've bought the digital version then you are a bit stuck.) Or you could even grant him access to your library and let him download it in advance of your visit.

Sony will surely just cut and paste this anyway now.

If they don't they have won and it will prove it's not just publisher driven.

Sony have already confirmed that the PS4 will be usable without ever being connected to the internet, which would make it impossible to have the same DRM features as XB1.

I don't believe that anymore. I'm sure it was a case of left hand saying something completely different to what the right hand will be doing.

Well it's what they've said so that's all we can go on for now. If this turns out to be false then i suspect Sony are going to get attacked just as much as Microsoft are at the moment.

I'm planning on buying both consoles at release but what if after a couple of weeks I don't want my Xbox, how would I sell it with the games as a bundle? Also, what if you move house and have to wait 2-3 weeks for internet and want to play your Xbox? Admittedly both are probably not going to effect me but some of the direction is concerning.

True - you would need Patch data and DLC data though from the cloud. Not quite the pop round your mates and run the game up. Even more so lets say if they are <10Mb Internet connection with a daily cap as well.

They would have to pay to reactivate the games on their own account, and if you move house and don't have internet then all you have is a shiny black Blu-ray player until you do have internet.
