**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

What did they show that was new and different? (don't even think titan fall because you know it's just CoD with Robots :p) All I saw was the majority being the same old stuff we've had for the past 7+ years. They had some half decent stuff, but nothing close to making me want to slap down £400 for some shiny new graphics.

No different than the many people that buy the new pc graphics cards that cost more than 429 quid every year to get a few fps more. If your not happy dont buy one.

Price is what I thought and I'd be surprised if Sony charge less tbh, I haven't watched Xbox one e3 yet so ill reserved judgement in still in buy a ps4 at launch camp however I know ill end up with both I just can't have both in same month

Got to say I liked what I saw. My preorder will remain, Sony haven't shown me anything that gets me that excited yet, so until I see more I'll reserve judgement.

Cloud processing for AI and Project Spark are 2 that instantly come to mind, with regards to what was new and\or different.

Also the graphic quality to scope ratio has vastly improved considering we're talking about consoles here.

The AI stuff just uploads your driving telemetry to a server as you play, then your friends download it before they play.

Not as earth shattering or as data intensive as it sounds.

So this 'TV on Xbox One. Navigate and watch live TV from your cable, telco or satellite set-top box through your Xbox One.' lark....

Does that really mean I can watch all my sky channels, including additional subscription channels (BT Sport etc) via the Xbox??
Entirely voice controlled?!

If that's really the case, I could be tempted to sling one under the TV.............

We're honestly not sure :D

The TV aspect although cool, has been shown from an american TV view point, we're not sure how it'll work for certain over here. Although some are saying it'll just work along side your virgin\sky box, it wont be a replacement.

I suppose it depends on whether the companies get on board with it(I imagine they will do)

I was expecting nearer £499.99, so to me £429.99 is a bit of a bonus. It's a lot of money but the XB1 will give me years of service.

Some people spend more than that on a years sky subscription.....

I wish they gave more info about this, although I play a few indie games (most of them available through steam on pc anyway), its more of a HTPC.
Need details on these aspects.
If the sky/virgin links into xbone and xbone can control the box through voice control that would be amazing.

You would still have to connect the sky box to the XB1 to do this. XB1 can't do it on it's own

Yes (no official word about support yet but ms do have good relationship with sky) but you have to connect your sky box to it via hdmi so rather then just having sky box running your also be having xb1 not very eco friendly now is it lol

You make me sad.

That would be absolutely fine, assuming it's possible at all....

You make me hopeful. Screw the environment. If animals want my support they need to be less delicious and start making badass gadgets I need in my life!!

What does PC graphics cards have to do with my opinion that they showed very little of interest to me? And I've already said I won't be buying it within the first 12 months, so does that mean I can't have an opinion?

Gotta be honest 1600x900 will scale worse on a 1080p screen than 720p which is a straight doubling of pixels.

There's a very high chance everything was 720p or maybe even something like 1280x1080 which Wipeout used on the PS3 if I remember correctly.

Erm... tell me, what's 720 x 2?

FAIL!

To use it is a glorified TV remote?

Yeah, kinda. You have no idea how excited I gotwhen I learnt I could use my iphone as a remote for iTunes on the PC.

If I can have a box under the TV, that will be the sky box, play all my music/podcasts, play all my films, that will be a web browser and stream webcasts/netflix etc, that will be a Skype videophone AND be entirely voice controlled........ I'm in!!

So long as I can play all the games with a pad (wavy arm crap is ridiculous!) I'll be super excited to get one of those, and I think £430.00 is a very reasonable price.
