**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

what makes u think another rrod?

Just theres always bugs when things are released. Maybe not a rrod. Maybe just overheating or something.

Has the PS4 & Xbox One got DRAM or not?

A quick question. I'm looking to go to the USA next year. If I bought the console there would it work back in the UK?

Ah yes, good point. Honestly I had a terrible experience with Amazon for the 360 so I definitely won't be using them again (for preorders, I use them a lot regularly). Shopto have never let me down for games so I'll see how they are with consoles.

I believe they are region locked.

Thats a shame. Though I could have taken advantage of the currency conversion as it would have been £100 cheaper.

The exchange rate could fluctuate by then and you would prolly get stung for import tax anyway even if they were region free, not to mention the warrantee issue if something went belly up :)

this whole issue of publishers and DRM

if the ps4 sells bucketloads no publisher is gonna cut of his nose to spite his face..they will publish on both consoles..it would be financial suicide to wipe out millions of sales.

Have they said no reselling? I thought it was reselling but the buyer has to pay a fee to the publishers/MS?

Pretty sure I read that in order to resell a One game the recipient of the sale needs to have been on your friends list for atleast 30 days. Which makes any kind of reselling or trading sort of hard. :p

Plus the fact they'd get much bigger sales figures from PS4, and any company that refuses to bring their game to the PS4 due to no DRM will completely outcast themselves from over 50% of the market for future generations.

Watched the show last night and was impressed by a lot of the titles, particularly MGS5, Dead Rising 3, Forza 5 and Titanfall. Need to see more of Sunset Overdrive looks like it could be good.

Enjoyed the whole presentation, actually.

£429 plus extra for a game or two. Not too devastated by that. I figured around £399 so not too far off what I was expecting.

Haven't watched the Sony presentation yet but from the list of releases I've seen nothing really excites me. I will check it out later.

I imagine I will buy both anyway just not decided on which to get first. So far so Microsoft.

Exactly, the whole second hand issue is overblown, any money made through it will be miniscule compared to the losses in first hand sales due to the draconian anti-consumer measures.

I wouldn't be surprised if MS drop the price of Xbone between now and launch, they aren't going to sell many at current prices and if that means selling the console at a loss then so be it.

Having come to consoles from PC gaming then I am well used to buying a game that can't be traded or resold (without piracy) so the Xbox system really does not worry me too much it remains to be seen how it affects 2nd hand game prices etc but I think the only people who will really lose out are those high street stores that survive on the 2nd hand market.
