**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

You havent got a Valve source for that because thats a surprising change, I know they dont tend to listen to players if they get banned so its interesting that policy has changed so much.

Well this is confusing as Patcher mentioned them to be most likely once Destiny is out primarily because its a MMO so their might need to be a possible change in pricing structure...

They quietly brought it in, hence you never hear anyone complaining they've lost access to their library anymore. You can no longer buy or trade stuff etc etc though, VAC bans are just per game now also, but that's your own daft fault if you get hit by that.

If only everyone had that attitude we'd be able to spend all our time talking about games instead of arguing back and forth about the policies :)
But you cant blame people for not having a great idea what MS are upto and so forming so many differing and likely opposing opinions. A lot of it has been unnecessary guesswork but I really do blame MS for that and that this thread is so unpleasant because some feel they need to defend while others are haooy to kick them while they are down.

I do think if people are clear about how they derive their opinion or point and perhaps even back it up it might help people understand that. Currently I just see quite of lot of dismissal because of who the messenger is rather than the message itself, though I agree a lot of it could be just classed as plain trolling, I guess if the shoe was on the other foot would they be as vehement?

For those, if you just give them enough rope theyll publically hang themselves.

Hot lapping on Forza while watching an episode of 24 or whatever? For me that would be impossible to devote enough concentration to fully enjoy doing both of those things at once. Also, how is it any different to pressing the picture in picture button on my TV remote? What about the sound also? It's just a silly gimmick in my opinion.

but that is what is great about being able to make my own mind up as to what i deem to be interesting to me :-) this is how i normally make my decisions by thinking whether or not i would like what is on offer.

Oh I agree, I'm not saying that we shouldn't discuss how things *could* work, as MS have been really poor in getting their information across. That's not a problem with me. It's just the blatant trolls who are doing nothing positive in the thread at all. They should just stick to the PS4 thread/PC forum where they are obviously more happy.

It's a selling point as you can use Xbox Snap to watch TV while you're actually playing the game, or Skyping while watching Sky. It has more features than simply a pass through connection.

Or just use the picture-in-picture feature that every TV has had for 5 years now.

Valve source for you. Even EA doesn't ban you from your games if you get banned from Origin!

This is the Xbox one thread, not the Xbox One positive news thread of bowing down to Microsoft.

What is happening on the Xbox is potentially massive and cannot be overstated, it needs to be discussed and not accepted otherwise gaming will be run by what is effectively a cartel who can do what they like.

I personally wouldn't use it while playing a twitch game like that, but if I were chilling in an RPG or something, then yes I would certainly consider watching some live footy at the same time. And lots of people, myself included, don't have picture-in-picture on their TV.

It looks to be the next step in the transition from physical to digital, as I do most of my gaming on the PC none of it really comes as a surprise.

It should surprise you, none of it is logical, or providing any tangible benefit. Its just a massive attempted power grab and MS trying to force their will onto the market that isn't ready and won't be for years.

Instead of pushing the logical value driven transition to digital, MS just decided to force this ugly set of rules on everyone and force it through.

Can't see this being true. Surely you must be able to have multiple live accounts so you could just create a new account.

they've said that multiple accounts will be able to use the same live account. so essentially you only need one live account for your machine for your whole family .... i think :)

You wouldn't be able to sell your account though. So unless you were selling early on and getting £300+ you might not bother. Thinking of in a few years time, who would sell a console for £150, knowing that they will have £100-£500 of games that they won't be able to play any longer.

Similar to the original XBox Live needing a broadband connection when most people were still on dial up?

As I said I will wait until the full details of both consoles are available but as I see game discs as just a way of delivering content the restrictions are not a huge deal for me.

Of the two consoles XBox looks to be providing more games I prefer but if they are nough to justify the extra £80 I will have to wait and see. PS4s launch line up was a bit "meh" on the games front for me.

Damn I thought if I sold the console I could still play the games!!!

Someone who wants £150 and has no intention of playing the games anymore? ;)
