**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

I pre-ordered mine from shopto. They haven't let me down with new releases and I used them when the 3DS first came out.

Also, they offer a 12 month warranty for instant replacement of the console should it break down. The warranty applies to both Xbox One and PS4 so I think they are worth a look.

Same place I have both the PS4 & Xbox ordered from. They've never let me down once with games or consoles.

I pre-ordered from Tesco, as the wife works there and gets 10% staff discount, so a Xbox One for £387 is a great deal ;)

Yeah that's a damn good price. (Trying to think of someone who works there lol)

Yeah that was my choice, I do like the idea of the 12 month warranty and the fact that someone picks up the console and returns it.

I really don't know whether to wait (trade in my 360 on the release date) or preorder now and miss out on a specific bundle I would like.

there's no swearing in this...

So basically you can have 10 people on your family list and they can any game you buy?
No if this is what having a 24 hr check on the Internet is all for then I think that's a good thing.

Now major Nelsen said that if your boy was at collage and you bought halo at home then your boy could play it. I wonder how many consoles that can be done on? 2 or the full 10?

I'm sure I read somewhere that only one friend would be able to access your game library at a time

You can designate 10 friends (which MS refer to as family) to have access to your online game library. Any of those ten can play your games. You can play any time, one of those ten can also play at the same time. But as we discovered today, it looks like single-player only. You and one of your family cannot both play multiplayer simultaneously.

So in theory, I could buy Dead Rising 3. All ten of my family can take it in turns and play my copy if they are willing to wait.

If that's true that simply brilliant, but how can it be, any single player game, they would sell like 1/5 of the copies.
You and your mates just take it in turn to buy games at launch.

To me personally it kinda really positive that you can do that. There's the big hoo harr about DRM but if this is how we think it is then its awesome. I know why Microsoft ain't shouting about it cos I think the publishers may be scared of fewer games sales. I completely understand the limitation of the multiplayer being locked down even if I don't like that,

Multi players locked down anyway.
Is there any multiplayer games that you can have several people playing from the same license? Most require the disc and/or be logged in and thus limited to one account.

So me and 2 friends are getting an X1 on launch day, if we all buy 3 diff games and all put each other as family we will be able to play each others games. I kinda hate when new console comes out and you only have one or 2 games to play at first

Yeah that is how it seems.

It has great possibilities, if we are right in thinking how it works.

I wonder the if we will be able to buy a copy of the game with a family licence for all members to use multi player off one copy?

People are impatient. If you have a 10 person family and buy a game that takes 20 hours to complete, it will take the group a minimum of 180 hours for everyone to complete it. Divide those 180 hours over typical playing hours and most groups will take weeks or months to get through a game. Add in the frustration of not being able to access it when you want to and I expect a lot of people will cave in and buy the game if they really like it.

It's a nice idea and with a bit of organisation and patience it could certainly be turned to the consumer's advantage, but for most I doubt it will actually change their game buying habits massively. It's likely to work much better in smaller groups TBH.

This is where the beauty is in the system. Looking ahead at the Xbox One launch, there's so many 'must-have' games due out that the likes of Crimson Dragon and Wolfenstein: A New Order wouldn't normally get a look in. However, thanks to this 'Family' system, I think there's a good chance me and my mates will have a copy of both, to go along side copies of Assassin's Creed, Watch Dogs, Dead Rising, Ryse and Forza for playing from the shared library. The games that don't make those 'must-have' lists could well benefit from this.

Yeah, it does seem VERY odd that they would allow you to share the same game between 10 in such a manner. This really need a video to explain it better.

Can the game be installed on more than xbone at once? As I don't fancy having to download a possible 125gb every time I want to play the game and asking the previous person to uninstall it first.
