**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

What? A computer with a SSD would be faster to turn on and get into a game than any console

You can also sit back and pick a controller up as well. :p

Really? An SSD would be quicker than turning my xbox on and it booting the game straight away? So it can boot windows and then load a game in about 10 seconds?

Also I don't want to sit back and play FPS games with a controller on a P.C and get hammered because they all have KB&M

This is what I'm thinking, as I've only ever had consoles I fully understand what he's saying though, gaming pc's is a whole new thing for me I just hope I'm not disappointed

Definitely would be quicker to power on the PC and load a game if you have an ssd than the same on a console. Plus no disc changing.

Yes, with an SSD you can boot to windows in a matter of seconds. Also, even with mechanical hard drives loading games is quicker on PC. Whenever i play on my PS3 the loading times are horrible in comparison.

Well the boot up times aren't a massive selling point anyway. Also I don't have an SSD and I don't want to have to upgrade just to load windows quicker.

I gave him MY reasons for preferring console gaming and that is one of them.

It's all down to how a person prefers to game. Some like to sit up close on a monitor on a p.c or even a console. Some like to sit back and game with a pad. It's all down to your style and needs. I've gamed on P.C & Consoles for years and just prefer the ease and lack of worry when it comes to console gaming.

Also this is the Xbox one thread, the console has more ram so i'm guessing it will boot quicker than the 360/PS3? No point comparing it to a 7 year old console.

with you all the way buddy, I'm going to treat my pc just like a console, it will be in my living room on my 42" tv I know I'm gonna have to get a wireless keyboard & mouse but that should be ok, but playing games such as cod there is no way I could use the keyboard

I did the same but I never found it comfortable for gaming, having a controller is much easier and I like online MP FPS games and there is no way I was going to use a pad and get my ass spanked every time by the M&KB users! :p

Really... Never used M&KB but can't see how it's better?? I'd be totally crap

Seriously? Using M&KB makes you so much more accurate as it is easier to do minute movements and you can movie it as slow or fast as you like. Ask anybody who has gamed on both and they'll tell you using a M&KB is so much better on FPS games.

I'll give it a try, but 100% certain I'll be pants :D

Was including blu ray in the PS3 a stupid move from Sony? The kinect had to be included or there was no point in doing it. 90% of Developers will not choose to develop a game for a small fraction of the market.

Carrying on from what Shamikebab has already said...
I'm surprised that people still don't get this. This is a console that is expected to last a decade. Just because you can't see the benefit straight away doesn't mean it's not important to the console. In order for the console market to not stagnate we need new tech included from launch. If these features aren't implemented and required then developers are less likely to take the risk developing features for it. At the moment we have only really seen sports games take advantage of kinect, but that doesn't mean that's all it is capable of. People are too quick to judge. I also think it is a shame Sony dropped the camera from their console; if it became an industry standard we would probably see faster improvement in motion and voice control in games but now it may just be left to XBox exclusives. By not including the camera I think Sony may have benefitted in the short term with a lower priced console but will hurt themselves in the long term.

I think the majority of gamers for Xbox and PS are not interested in standing in their living room flapping their arms and legs around. I think they like to kick back and relax on their sofa with a game pad and a beer and get involved that way. I think the gimmicks should be left to the kids on the Wii. I want the CHOICE to buy a gimmick item for my console (say I did have kids and wanted to involve them in fun motion games on my console).

I think your assumption that not including the motion device being at all an issue in future is a little speculative, if not dramatic. My bet is MS release a package WITHOUT the kinect to try a cover their initial losses of sales, which will have certainly hurt them in the long term!

The more I think about what the Xbox One offers the more I get excited about it. I can't help but feel MS are actually building a console/entertainment system for the future, whereas Sony are just building a better PlayStation 3/Xbox 360.

It is no secret that from the out set Sony are aiming at core gamers, MS are aiming for an all-in-one affair.
