**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

I guarantee most of the people moaning in this thread will end up buying the Xbox One at some point during its lifetime. Some absolutely lolworthy posting in here.

I've pre-ordered both this and PS4, lets see what the prices and availability are going to be, plus a few more concrete details on both.

Xbox One and Used Games

We know there is some confusion around used games on Xbox One and wanted to provide a bit of clarification on exactly what we’ve confirmed today. While there have been many potential scenarios discussed, today we have only confirmed that we designed Xbox One to enable our customers to trade in and resell games at retail.

Beyond that, we have not confirmed any specific scenarios.

Another piece of clarification around playing games at a friend’s house – should you choose to play your game at your friend’s house, there is no fee to play that game while you are signed in to your profile.

Game footage: it was not a game announcement. It was the hardware announcement.
Ugly: it looks like pretty much every other bit of AV kit on the market. There's a reason I bought a silverstone ft03 to replace my phantom - it was sleek, and blended in well. Garish contusions and flashing lights add nothing but make it look like it was designed for those with ADHD. This looks pretty good.
Fanboyism: OMFG IT LOOKS TERRIBLE I'M GETTING THE PS4 INNIT BRUV - firstly, we have no idea what the PS4 looks like, and secondly, you only make yourself look childish and unable to form your own opinion, especially using terms like M$ (lol). However, if you are going to defend this without accepting its (as yet unknown) flaws, then you are equally as bad.
Inability to read: You don't need to use the media functionality. But the fact that it runs 3 side by side OSs means that you can be, lets say playing a game and watching TV/checking a forum feed/messaging people on skype a lot easier. But no, just avoid that and call it not a proper games console even though the level of functionality with game integration is icredibly impressive... so far. People also seem to LOVE to avoid posts which don't back up their argument, and champion and shout about the posts that do, however correct. MMR/Autism connection anyone?

Honestly, there's a load of people in this thread who really need to place both hands firmly on their backsides, grip, and yank their head out of their own behinds. It's pathetic, laughable and in no way unexpected.

No wonder people have a negative image of a large proportion of the gaming community with the complete lack of any reading comprehension, ability to argue and in general being a decent human being displayed most eloquently by you lot.

To the serious posters: thank you for the information, I'm really intrigued by what's coming for both Sony and Microsoft. It's going to be a very hard decision, probably swayed by my love for Fable and Halo.

I had a 360 day one last gen. MS better have something good up their sleeve as I'm really turned off at the minute.

No need to be so defensive. Their competitor brought at least some games and some excellent social features to their launch along with the 8GB GDDR5 megaton. They also discussed hardware in depth. MS brought Skype, super duper wafting device, COD 34895 and paywalls...... Its hard NOT to be cynical.

50% less GPU power and much worse memory bandwidth is marginally less?

Every single leak has come true, all of it, the anti used games, the always online, the HDMI in etc etc.

We're talking about main memory having a bandwidth of 68GB/s with some embedded RAM to help out, vs the PS4 having a main memory bandwidth of 176GB/s that's hardly marginal in itself, then you have 50% less GPU power on top of that.

Actually, that's 33.3r%

But fair enough. I guess we'll see which OS makes the most out of the hardware. Remember, Microsoft will be able to offload a reputedly unlimited amount of processing to the cloud.
