**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

At the minute nothing interests me about the Xbox One, I just hope they pull some great looking exclusive games out of the bag at E3 otherwise I will solely be a Sony user for another generation.

Can anyone tell me if the Gears of War franchise is over? I didnt ever like it but it would be great to see what Epic Games can come up with a new IP.

I Would choose the option not to have it. There is that option. Also if there wasn't that option I would still buy the car as I would need it for work.

I don't need the console

There is the option not to press those buttons on screen. Here is a newsflash.

It takes ZERO effort not to press those buttons. Zero. Nada. Nothing. Zilch.

On the other hand it takes effort and money to make 2 different consoles, and that cost will be passed onto, guess who, you and me.

They play the same games (excluding exclusives).

Only one has the full motion and voice interaction that Kinect brings.

Only one has full TV integration.

Sony were all about games as they had nothing else to discuss. They outlined their "instant on" and "Sharing" features and that was the limit of the additional features the PS4 offers.

Microsoft has other stuff to intorduce, like the new Kinect, the TV functionality, the tie in with SmartGlass, the 3 seperate OS.

They both play games. But Xbox One does more over and above that.

It's pointless useless stupid features. TV for example, you don't buy a gaming console to watch TV, when a TV is required to play games on it anyway.

It's supposed to be there simply for convenience. It might not be useful for everyone. It doesn't prevent you from enjoying the games. Why is this a problem?

I can play games on my Sky box using the remote control. It's a crap feature which I never use. Maybe I should not bother having 900 TV channels because of it.

The downstairs doorways in my house are wide enough to fit a wheelchair, but I am able bodied and do not need these wide doors. Maybe I should go and live in a cave.

I'm more gutted in the fact that it's glossy, it's gonna be a dust and finger magnet. Other than that, I couldn't care less about the rest of its looks.

Saying that though, the original 360 was a hideous looking device on release, but as time passed, and with each new refresh, Microsoft improved on the design. I'm sure that'll happen here.

One things for sure, I won't be buying until Christmas 2014 at the earliest, as the console will need time to mature.

Something i've posted on another forum and not many people seem to be talking about

I don't get it though.

Smart TVs already have half these features. The Samsung ones for example have voice commands, minority report gestures, skype, facebook, twitter, web browser, tv recommendations, film streaming from cloud/network, and more. So when these become commonplace, i'm going to have 2,3,4? different pieces of hardware that all do exactly the same thing, and each cost a hell of a lot more than the "simple" versions they could be.

No thanks.

gamers are not impressed...

Hardcore console gamers have the attention span of a knat and repeatedly buy the same CoD games over and over again, and get fleeced for DLC. I place no credence in their snap judgements that form blinkered opinions.

They hated the Wii cause of it's wimpy specs and "gimmicky" controller. It went on to sell millions and opened up casual gaming to many more. The money isn't in the hardcore gaming market.

Whilst a good point, those features are on £1500+ TVs. If I can get them on my aging Panasonic via a £400 games console which I would have bought anyway, then great.

XBox One has pull out bedrolls and can double up as a kitchen stove. It might help you in your cave.

I can not say "this" enough times to echo this comment.
People seem to be becoming retarded.

Wah wah always online wah
Do people not have broadband or something?
Am i in 1999?

It's not the fact the XO has these other features that bothers me, it's the fact MS opened with them and spent so much time telling us about them which is the issue. E3 is of course going to be games games games but they are very much pushing all this other stuff pretty hard. It's hard to be impressed about it all and the general feeling seems to be bad from most places you look.

No, it's a games console with added TV/Skype etc functionality. It's primary purpose is still games. Why is this such a hard concept to grasp?

That's not at all correct

XBOX ONE

It's the FIRST generation of a new product, an entertainment system. IF it was a games console with added bits it would be the xbox 3
