My NES/SNES were both entertainment systems.
My smart TV was £550. Just saying.
Game footage: it was not a game announcement. It was the hardware announcement.
I'm not sure what to make of the specs, going with a weaker graphics processor then your main competitor seems risky to me especially 3, 4 years down the line when developers will scratching around trying to get every last bit of performance out of the sub system. Then again weaker hardware didn't stop the Nintendo Wii from being a runaway success.
Yet there was a tonne of emphasis on the entertainment software it can run...?
Dont forget 2 OSes that run at the same time within a hypervisor - both will have dedicated resources allocated too...I'm not sure what to make of the specs, going with a weaker graphics processor then your main competitor seems risky to me especially 3, 4 years down the line when developers will scratching around trying to get every last bit of performance out of the sub system. Hardcore console gamers have the attention span of a knat and repeatedly buy the same CoD games over and over again, and get fleeced for DLC. I place no credence in their snap judgements that form blinkered opinions.
They hated the Wii cause of it's wimpy specs and "gimmicky" controller. It went on to sell millions and opened up casual gaming to many more. The money isn't in the hardcore gaming market.
Because thats not really suited to E3.
Hardcore gamers don't like COD. only the most casual players do...
There won't be much in it. It's in the interest of multiplatform developers to make the XOne and PS4 versions look as similar as possible, so if there is a discrepancy in power, they will build the game around the lower spec. If it was aimed at the higher spec, the lower spec version might have performance problems, which is simply going to lose them sales.I'm not sure what to make of the specs, going with a weaker graphics processor then your main competitor seems risky to me especially 3, 4 years down the line when developers will scratching around trying to get every last bit of performance out of the sub system. That's not at all correct
XBOX ONE
It's the FIRST generation of a new product, an entertainment system. IF it was a games console with added bits it would be the xbox 3
Its not going to, if MS get the games people want to play it makes little difference what other multiple cross-sections they are targetting...The Xbox One is probably going to flop on the basis that they are basically moving away from the target markets that gave them the edge with the 360, ie. the hardcore gamers.
