**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

What is the point of this post other than as troll bait in the Xbox One thread? Seriously? What is it with certain members that just want to spend all their time posting as much negativity about something others are interested in as possible. It's not even close to a discussion around the merits of consoles, just a gleeful "and here's more proof my PS4 kicks the **** out of your crap Xbone" stuff...

Jeez... have a day off, no wonder these threads degenerate into negative flame fests. :(

Where is the WiiU love ?!?!?! :D :p

Don't know who this guy is but he has battlefield 4 videos and claims PS4 multiplayer looks better than XB1 single player.

I follow himon Youtube, he said yesterday that on the 29th he will be posting single player footage from the Xbone and multiplayer from the PS4 from the review event with Dice.

I'm looking forward to seeing that tomorrow as we'll finally see some proper footage of the PS4 multiplayer.

They should save it, as they need something to keep themselves busy with thanks to their launch titles. :D

It never mentioned it was sped up and I hope it really wasn't, as that is very slick. Tempted to actually plug kinect in and try it out.

What even is a Wii U!?! ;)

Calmes-toi. You're the one that's biting! :D
I'm off to get some screenies from BF4 on my PC at 2560x1440p with ultra detail and post it in the PS4 thread pointing out how good it is compared to the pants low res console version - I reckon I'll last 2 minutes before I get hunted down with pitch forks and torches :) ;)

If the PS4 is overheating, I seem to be correct, as I expected the thing to run hot. That is a huge pain with the PS3 in my opinion, and even with all of the new 'huge vents' I don't expect it to stay cool for long. Plus, with the added power you are going to need a bit extra over the Xbone anyway.

Honestly, give it a rest. Not sure what the PS3 has to do with anything either; you've been told over and over again that they aren't particularly susceptible to overheating.

Surely they can't release a broken console. It went into manufacturing ages ago. I find a lot of this hard to believe. People will be returning them left right and centre if it crashes all the time.

Well seeing as you need to connect to the internet with your xbox I don't find it that hard to believe. Push the manufacturing of the consoles out early whilst they work on the software. Come 22nd of November I don't believe the OS will be as bad, as it's currently made out to be.

The design is basically a flattened PS3 with more power inside. They may not overheat, but all my PS3 does in the summer is make the room a sauna.

I won't mention anything to do with how either console runs again if people will be touchy on the subject.

I believe almost all rrod problems came from the heat they made. But the first 360 design was really poor :p

Mine is the original shape but with the HDMI port. I'm sure they did a few little revisions over time that helped reduce the problem - then they decided to bring out the much better stuff for its cooling and noise.

Yes, which I suspect explains the conservative GPU and large case/vents etc on XO, MS not wanting to get caught with the same problem again.

Pretty much! It allows the thing to stay cool & very quiet at all times too. Even when stuck in some ridiculous place.

Wasn't the 360 rrod due to heat problems? My 360 rrod but my ps3 is fine :D

It was more to do with expansion and contraction of the solder, as opposed to actual overheating. The systems ran hot because the cooling was awful, causing the solder to expand

Mine doesn't. Sure, the older consoles ran warmer and do tend to get louder over time, but the fact that they stuck with the same overall cooling system and design over the course of the PS3's life suggests it's clearly quite effective.

Until the actual machines are out in the wild, there is really no indication whatsoever so far that either console is going to be more prone to heat or reliability issues than the other.

Let us hope that both consoles are able to last till the end of this gen, so none of us have to re-buy if the console was to break ;)

Played one today at the Xbox One Tour thing, Zoo Tycoon was fun! Controller felt good but not too sure about the rumble triggers.

Aye played Forza 5 on the one in Northumberland Street. Was pleased with the game, excellent graphics and framerate. Controller felt pretty much identical to the 360, except I would say it was a tiny bit smaller. Rumble triggers are ok, they didn't really add that much immersion for me to be honest, it felt a bit 'digital' as to when they give you feedback. It was either fully there or not at all.
