**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

LOL... Crater will be joining Xenon89 sobbing in a corner somewhere... It's a chart on a picture so it much be true and conclusive proof that PS4 is inferior and drops frames, very poor but there it is unless you don't believe your own eyes. :) :D

This is the most fun we've had in this thread in months watching desperate PS4 trolls getting taken apart and left a wreck. The funny thing is they're doing it to themselves, most of the normal console players on both sides of the console choice are just pleased that both consoles have a great game to play on the horizon whichever platform you chose.

Man your a bit out there aren't you, which alternate reality is this from?

And thanks for proving my earlier point :D

Depends campaign or multiplayer?

Both.

That's what I said, it's just ram, ram does no processing. PS4 will always have more rops, shaders, alu or what ever.

The ES Ram will potentially allow parity on memory bandwidth over time, that doesn't change the actual horsepower of either system.

Ram is part of the horsepower equation.

That's not going to close the initial hardware gap, it will close the bloated software gap which is extra on top of the actual hardware gap. So for example (made up numbers) PS4 is 50% Hardware + 10% Software more powerful, if Microsoft close the software gap you will still have 50% hardware gap.

You seem to be saying that things like drivers play no actual part in how well hardware performs. You do realise how wrong that is don't you? Well optimised drivers can make a big difference in performance, as any PC gamer will tell you.

What is any of this actually achieving?
Nothing, except in giving me a headache. I'm going to go home soon and attempt to get blood from a stone, I think it'll be easier than what I've attempted this afternoon.

Edit: I'm actually going to go home and try to set a new points record in my career in NBA 2K14. Scored 33 last night so I'm aiming for a 40 point game tonight :D

Looks like PS4 is really struggling to run BF4... ;)

Even though you've probably found me having a dig at the PS4...

I was very impressed with how well the PS4 controller sat in my hands today, then felt rather angry at how they still haven't moved the left analog stick. If they had, they'd have (IMO) the perfect controller.

Another thing is, that when I watched the video of the BF4 gameplay, I felt both consoles were as smooth as each other, just with the XBone actually producing the better picture.

I think that we've got some exciting stuff ahead, no matter what console it's on (unless you have a PS4 and want a decent racing game*)

*couldn't resist. Sorry :p

It is all getting very old very quickly though :p
Indeed, but the two primary PS4 trolls really aren't listening and would swear white is black which is why I'm not bothering trying to have a sensible discussion with them and just find them funny instead.

Personally I think the campaign is significantly better, with less jaggies and a more natural realistic look. The artificial contrast and sharpness is horrid and no different to that dodgy in store tv demo setup everyone takes off when they setup their TV at home. Also the higher average frame rates whilst running at 50% higher resolution (which will translate better when blown up on a large TV) will result in the definitive version. Both online versions looked dummed down in the IGN vid, and did not interest me.

Ram is part of the horsepower equation.

It's not. It something that can allow actual horse power to breath/work without constraints. A 9400gt with 2GB of GDDR3 is as crap as a 9400GT with 1GB GDDR3

Sorry I thought you were referring to bloat ware of the MS OS reserving more resources to it. Then back to my earlier answer, the same refinements will be made on both consoles unless you think MS drivers will be significantly better than Sonys?

Ill post this in here as its were its mostly being discussed, from what ive read/heard/seen etc
Both versions of the games are still WIP, both are going to have patches at start for example XB1 is going to have AO of some sort added prob the same as PS4 version.
Both consoles are not full released versions of the hardware and these comparisons are not using final versions of the OS, and online services, things may change slightly, these comparisons seems to much like click bait to me.
Due to restrictions on said consoles most sites didn't managed to get decent footage, or didn't have time to adjust settings etc.
Some prefer the over sharp contrast image of the XB1 some prefer the PS4 more natural? image, reminds me a bit how some prefer the crushed blacks and extra vivid colours on a samoled display and some prefer a "cooler" LCD screen.
I don't think if you had both versions most wouldn't be able to notice much difference be the two, and if you prefer the sharper/darker/lighter/softer image most can be adjust via your TV settings.
Anyone recall how COD2 looked on the 360 launched? IW came along way in a few years, expect this gen to be the same, we'll look back at some of the early games and wonder how we played it lol.
The approx 50% more pixels being pushed on the PS4, may well be the norm for this gen, but as the PS3 had the poorer multiplats (mostly) and people still enjoyed the games most of this seems just to be console warriors trying to point score and doesn't really matter to the person playing the game.
Seems both sound they have their odd dips in framerate but seems PS4 is more consistent frame rate with the odd time the XB1 is better, who knows this may be equal for both on release, or maybe made worse for say adding the AO on the XB1 for example.
In the end most of this looks to be sites wanting to compare both platforms before launch under controlled conditions on unfinished software/hardware/OS. Im going to wait till they actually are released and we have some decent quality non youtube footage to judge and anyway does any gamer really care that much if there is a difference they cant really see anyway?

From what I saw of AC4 today on the PS4, the graphics are much better for consoles, but it also seems to go much further, from viewing distance down to the leaves on a tree.

Is it a case of say anything that goes against my emotionally kinected views is obviously the work of trolls?

Man you crack me up :p You accuse others of exactly what you are.
There's a certain irony to trolling the trolls. You won't listen to any kind of sensible conversation and ignore any fact that doesn't fit your mission to try to paint the XO as a rubbish console so there seems little point in indulging in any kind of grown up conversation with you. The experience of Davey and others today just kinda proves the point.

I do find it funny you whining that you're being trolled in this thread however... 6/10, must try harder. :)

I don't think MS drivers will be significantly better than Sony's, I just think it's a possibility. After all, isn't MS making DX11.2 a Windows 8.1 and Xbox One exclusive? I'm sure I saw some benchmarks that showed on the exact same system, games ran several FPS better with DX11.2. Again, not suggesting that MS will be better than Sony, merely illustrating areas where they could pull back some of the gap. After all, you'd think if anyone knew how to get the most out of DX, it would be MS.
