**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

I'll primarily use the 24" Monitor, but I also have the 32" on the wall for things like multiplayer FIFA, etc. Sound are the S730's job, and thankfully using optical now :)

There does seem to be a lot of bother about the streaming. Thankfully i'm behind with that stuff and have it on dvd/blu-ray :p

lol - Peeps can drop £350+ on a new console without batting an eyelid but can't spare £30 for a dedicated media streamer that will do a better job than integrated rubbish....

Hell these days most TV's have that functionality built in!!

oh great well looks like I need a DAC............I was going to upgrade my rpac to a fostex desktop dac soon so I guess November 22nd is the time to order it because the 3.5mm plug out of the dell monitor puts out some seriously crusty sound quality.

orrrrr..........sell the cambridge audio 650A for a couple hunny and buy another cinema amp for the computer room................hmmmmm.............

Now I'm really torn about just getting one and not waiting. I was bought this tin as a joke almost 5 years ago before my son was born....

I cracked it open now I can no longer get coins in and it had more in that I thought :D

The xbox is kinda a new baby right :D

That will buy a lot of chocolate Danny!

God, now I'm really torn! :( All the chocolate I take off Joe tonight should keep me going.

I did put £3 of it in Joes piggy bank, I'm not so selfish to keep it all to myself!

Hopefully I can get a console before the new COD. I don't want to pay for any of the current bundles I would rather just buy the console and a copy of COD if possible.

Sadly zoo tycoon is the only other game that remotely interests me.

Just read that on their blog, Sony confirmed there'll be no MP3 playback, external hard drives won't be supported and DLNA streaming is a big no-no on its new console.

What have MS confirmed? I love the streaming functions of the Xbox (and PS3) to lose them whould be a big loss to me and my NAS full of my ripped DVD/CDs.

MS have confirmed the same thing, although I think you can use your own mp3's if you subscribe to one of their services but I'm not sure.

I'm hugely disappointed and I'm having to reconsider a few things. The only ray of light is one of the Sony bigwigs on twitter has promised to look at the situation.

It's a weight off my shoulders now it's full Mark. I now have coins in my pocket again and don't have to keep taking money out :D

It seemed a lot until I broke the figures down to about £3 per week on average went into that tin. My father in law put the first £1 in as a joke and I kept it going for a long 5 years :D

My PS3 is connected to an expensive receiver having the ability to just whack some tunes on locally is very convenient this news is frustrating I'd taken this basic functionality as a given.

A spanner has been thrown into the works for me as I recently found out that my wife and I will have a little one on the way next year, shock still hasn't worn off :), so definitely now can only afford one for the next couple of years until I qualify. Considering that XB1 has Forza, Halo and now Titanfall I may go against my PS4 pre-order and pick it up in a few years.

So yeah I'm probably going to be back to xbox since March when the system died and I used my PS3.

Roll your eyes all you want, my v20 will stream media as will my bluray player but the consoles do a better job. Xbox One is being sold as a complete media solution and losing dlna frustrating. I liked the idea of all under on roof, or on one hdmi port. Would make sorting the wires out on my av system allot clearer.

Anyway panasonics built in media streaming is very touchy on v20s. The newer tvs maybe better but allot of my stuff won't play smoothly on the tv

You need some kind of tin to save in.

:D

I'm totally baffled that neither console, especially the XB1, will not support media streaming from a NAS for example?

I went to the XB1 tour last night and it seemed to work pretty well. The new Kinect is very good and seems to work well even in low light situations. The games graphically looked alright but they never look much against a good pc so I won't be buying any of the BF4/COD type games on my XB1. Fifa 14 was brilliant, Ryse was much better than expected and Dead Rising was pretty epic. They only gave you 1 lap on Forza for each car but it played well and looked good so I'll be buying that to go with Fifa. I'll probably pick up Dead Rising a couple of weeks later.

I managed to get to chat to an Xbox person who seems to know what was going on and quizzed him about the media streaming and such. He wasn't sure about streaming and DLNA but said it would play mkv files and such. Although don't see how if you can't access them!

He did almost confirm that there will be a new Nike Kinect Training game but it won't be out for a while - could just be him making stuff up though.
