**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

I'm fairly happy with mine so far and enjoying Forza.

One thing I would pick fault with so far is the bumper buttons on the new pad. While playing dead rising you have to hold RB to change weapons and I'm finding I need quite a bit of force.
If I move my finger over and press the outer edge its easier. However just simply moving my index finger up naturally places it on the inner part of the button (nearer the centre of the pad) which is real stiff! :(

Not a fan of that tbh. It feels like I need child sized hands to do it easier.

I completely aree with this. Still got my 360 pad here and to me it feels more natural where the triggers and bumpers are.

Maybe we will get used to it, but at the moment it doesnt feel right yet.

So out of Launch games what are people enjoying most?

I set mine up today, was away in Dublin all weekend. Overall I am very impressed with the Kinect/SmartGlass features to it along with the DVR. However I think MS have gone massively backwards with the Friends/Achievements list - just feels very cumbersome, it's not easy to view achievements, or friends activity or anything - especially in game; however I guess I can snap the activity feed.

I only have KI (got a code from MS) and Fifa - not a particular fan of either, Fifa is good when some mates are over; I've decided to bite the bullet and go for Ryse, seems a bit marmite but read good things about the story and that's what intrigues me most. Initially was getting the console for WatchDogs but due to the delay I am not sure what else to get. Tempted by BF4 but have it on PC, wasn't really a fan of DR1 or 2 so not sure to bother with 3.

Struggling with BF4 multiplayer, either I'm sat to far back or the resolution is making it difficult to spot enemies at a distance. Makes sniping much harder. Probably a combination of both as usually sit close up to TV in bedroom but have set up X1 in living room where sofas are at a greater distance.

Well I've done a bit of reading about this dead Kinect issue and have found a surprising number of posts. One on the MS forums has a fairly large number of people saying theirs are dead in the same way and a few people have said MS have offered to replace the Kinect on its own. I guess I'll give them a call tomorrow and see what's what. Hopefully this doesn't turn out to be any large scale issue.

Loving my One at the moment, the voice commands are great, Ryse is great fun and next gen FIFA is excellent. Would rate BF4 as my fave next gen game to date if it wasn't so buggy, get kicked to dash 9/10.

GT is Lokai77 if anyone wants to add me :D

Will add you mate if you dont mind. I desperately need some backup on BF4 :D

Just don't get Kinect and why it was bundled in. It is pointless for games and is pointless for the UI.

You could do pretty much everything with a simple built in mic into the console or the controller it self. Plus simple things like turning the console on or off are easier to with the pad, press one button to turn on and two buttons to turn off by the controller.

scratching my head why charge the customer so much more for a pretty useless camera. well so far.

Just adding my thoughts from my weekend with the Xbox One:

DR3 - Really enjoying this, sure the graphics are nothing special but when you take into account the amount on screen at once you can forgive that. The one thing about DR is that it's fun and this game proves that graphics aren't everything.

BF4 - I'm used to playing this on the PC at 1080p so I was disappointed with the graphics on this. It looks a jaggy mess if I'm honest, especially when you are used to the anti aliasing on PC. The game constantly kicks you to the dash and out of servers as well, its in dire need a of a patch. On the plus side the 64 players is great for consoles and it's still an amazing game. I'm hoping to get the PS4 version on Friday to compare graphics wise.

FIFA 14 - Tbh I wasn't expecting to enjoy this as much as I have and the graphics are very nice indeed. I've spent the most time on this so that says it all for me! Will be interesting to see what they do with next years effort.

The Console - I'm impressed, loving the Kinect features, apart from the other half constantly telling it to switch off! Loving the snap features, how smooth the transition is between the dash and hopping into a game. I think allowing you to play a game before you have downloaded the whole thing is also a step in the right direction.

They do need to make some basic improvements. Show my friends coming online! I want to see how much battery life is left on my controller as well! I will probably find other things missing but overall I've been impressed with what I've seen so far and the potential of the system.

Not having to type in 25 digit voucher codes is good enough for me...

My console arrives tomorrow and I want to get xbox live gold in place for it so I can enjoy some BF4 online, but I'm wondering how I actually get it? The xbox website pretty much focuses on the 360 still when it comes to xbox live gold membership, so if I pay the £39.99 through them to upgrade my account, will it actually work on my xb1 or do you need to buy a specific xb1 version that the website doesn't have?

Sorry for the rather dopey question, but best to be sure as its pretty much the price of another game lol.

Live is Live, whether you log into your account through ha 360 or a One it'll use the Live Sub that is linked to your account (Gamertag)

Its the same Gold account. Gold is for your account, not the console.

"Xbox, on" works fine for me; turns on the console and av receiver (and sets correct input) but it won't turn on the TV. It's a Panasonic and I've specified the exact model in the settings.

Any idea? Does the infrared from the kinect come out front back and all over?
