**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

So maybe it's an issue with the Xbox one, third time it has happened with a third seperate game where I boot it from the menu and it loads but then throws me back to dashboard. The only thing that fixes it is a hard reset...

If Microsoft make it so easy to switch region and buy games surely it's their error and not an exploit?

If someone was modding their machine to do so fair enough but this is such a simple operation if Microsoft do ban people then they are in the wrong as they are the ones who made it so easy it's not a real exploit. IMO.

It's intention is to make it easy for you to switch to another region should you relocate - something that isn't easy to do with other similar services - flipping back and forth betwen regions to get cheap games is clearly exploiting and taking advantage of that system.

It will probably result in the process being made more restrictive with additional hoops to jump through for people that genuinely need to switch - this is why we can't have nice things!

This.

The argument of "if they didn't want us doing it they wouldn't make it so easy" is completely disingenuous.

Of course its an exploit if you need to put false details in like a US address - its not the morals Im debating but more that MS have a history of banning accounts that attempt such exploits - the latest of which was the Oman one back in September

Go ahead and try it, just be forewarned about the likely implications

yay tax fraud

warning ignore me, don't take seriously.

You're buying a license not the actual game. So when you're downloading the game you shouldn't have to pay tax as that is not what you paid for, you paid for the agreement to use the software.. The license agreement is still in the U.S so should still be under U.S tax law.

£20 voucher from currys. I have had most of my orders cancelled but I was told on Monday that Dead Rising has been dispatched (verbally) but no email confirming dispatch so hopefully I should get it by Friday. Part of me thinks that I will get it but the other part thinks not a chance.

If you don't want digital games remember you can import from places like videogamesplus and it's cheaper than buying here.

Of course, they could just make the games the same price in all regions so people would have no need or desire to do this. Or is that crazy talk?
