**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

The game I am hankering for is "Tom Clancy's - The Division." Just looks good and has a rpg element to it also.
Watchdogs and as you said, Titanfall are there other games on my will buy list. I have the lego games on my Chrimbo list but I don't class these as must haves.
BF4 I enjoy. I am rubbish with a controller as I normally play M&K but I am trying to move out of my cave and into the front room these days.

I am good with a controller, never bothered with PC mouse and keyboard since the BF2 days.

Just I remember BF3 screen/menus being cluttered with crap I didn't like. Is BF4 the same? Seems to be the only other competitive online game out at the moment though.

It took over an hour but finally got to play Ryse and it is a good game, a little repetitive after a few levels but still fun and you have to love the Executions :)

Not sure about the Store, seams to be lacking, mostly due to being a new console but I am having trouble finding demos, there are only one or 2 available that I can find, also when I first loaded the XO there was a panel for Games for Gold members, this has now gone and I cant find it?

One other thing, on the 360 there was a section to view your active downloads... not found anything like this on the XO... does it exist?

Tried Bing, it listed a few demos, but Not the one ones I had already found lol
Seams a bit hit and miss, the layout and search is terrible in the store, it feels like it's not showing everything.

AS for downloads, I selected to download a demo and it's not showing on my app panel, so no idea if it is still downloading or how far it 's got.

Edit: found the downloads under My Games and Apps.

Got a link on where this has happened with a XO game? Doesnt really sound that likely, its not like other console UIs havent been rushed to get them ready for launch, just we have more transparency nowadays. I just dont see the connection you are attempting to make, its not like we shouldnt expect a large day one patch for future games (like most EA ones :p), it just seems to rely on circumstantial evidence...

You're just being silly now. If you think that having to master a game and send it off to be put on DVD a month or more before the operating system it's going to sit on is finished doesn't inherently mean there is likely to be additional fine tuning and updates to the game code as the underlying OS changes and is finalised then I'll leave you to your perfect world where there's no link between OS changes and required game code updates.

Day one of console release games almost certainly had larger day one patches due to time constraints to launch and having to be mastered based on unfinished OS and game code. Subsequent games released going forward will of course need patching, however, they are unlikely to be of the size of titles like Forzas day one release patch for example.

Sometimes you really do come up with the strangest things to argue about when it comes to Xbox One...

My biggest gripe with this at the minute is still the interface, outside of that I'm having fun. For example last night I was playing Ghosts and a friend sent me a message asking if I wanted to hop into his party and play a different mode, now if you hold the 'home' button or whatever it is it'll bring you right to the message and you can reply that's a little slow but nothing I would cry about.

If you're in the middle of something though and can't do that and have to navigate to the messages manually, open it, then reply.. it takes around 45 seconds and for me that's too long. I just remember how easy it was on 360, 10-15 seconds and the job was done. The PS4 interface is faster as well, it's a small gripe but something I hope they fix in future.

Get one Danny and let us know ;)

What games we got to look forward to? Titanfall, what else?

Bit fed up with Forza now so haven't turned on the XO for a couple of days. Awesome game at first but just to repetitive with so little tracks and race modes. FIFA just doesn't do it for me as I am pants at football games. None of the other titles look interesting enough to me.

Keep humming and arring at BF4, don't think I'll enjoy though as to much is going off on the screen for my liking. (Well if it is anything like BF3)

Get BF4. We play domination and it doesn't have any vehicles. It is 10 v 10 and 100x better than CODs domination.

No, Im afraid you make some tenuous argument which when challenged you faux offence . What you are suggesting is that future game patches will be relatively smaller because they wont have to account for the changing OS.

I would have thought one of the game patch notes might have led you to your argument, how else have you formed your argument beyond guesswork? It seems more likely that to hit launch the games were shipped in a more unfinished state than normal so needed a substantial day one patch, thats why they exist in the first place - to allude to more detail would at least require some justification...

Just setup the 30 day Lovefilm trial. WOW! I didn't realise it had all these films as well included, i just thought it was TV programs.

Think ill carry this on for just £6 a month. (I am right in thinking the films don't cost extra to watch if i click them, do they?)

How many devices can i use this on? Would my lad be able to use the same account on his Xbox 360 in his room? Would i be able to use it on my Nexus 7 when we are away from home?

Thanks.

Just to be very clear, you are saying that having to ship a game (Forza for example) to be duplicated a month or more before the OS was finished had no effect on the size (5GB ish as i remember). I'm afraid your vague and unsubstantiated statement that shipping code for an app a month before an OS is finished (and is indeed still undergoing code changes to the last minute) in conjunction with having to ship for a for a fixed date has no effect on day one patch has very little credibility.

Your attempts to bluster your way out of an position which you have no evidence for by trying to have a dig at me only serves to illustrate just how poor an argument you have.

You also seem to have conveniently avoided my main point that games in the future are not likely to require the same size of patch in order to try to prove some point presumably you feel is important, unless you are saying all future patches will be of the same size(the OPs concern)?

I'm afraid your XO prejudices have left you looking a little silly this time as has your determination to argue and never be wrong.

Pretty sure all films/tv is included (same with netflix)

and that is the case (altho your boy might need to be signed into your gamertag on 360 not 100% sure)

Should work fine on tablet tho! (with lovefilm sign in details)

Huh? When did I start on the XO? Im having an issue with your poorly constructed/conveyed conclusion one that seems to be made on pure conjecture - I dont understand the need for your defensiveness...

EDIT: To answer your question, Im saying without further evidence its hard to say anything other than its a rushed game to hit launch that needed a day one patch...

Anyone elses controller feel like it's falling apart where your palms rest? It's getting worse and worse!

Yes. I pulled the side plastic off (it unclips and you cant break it cos its invincible, get it started with a knife) a whack the tiniest blob of blutack flat in there and press it back on. Stopped mine moving. It's where they have not moulded the retaining clips on those bits of plastic properly so a great deal of the release pads have one side loose. I'll probs sell it one day as if it's perfect and new and no one will know there is blutack inside lol.

Odd question... has anyone noticed the console turning itself on?

A few nights this week I've turned it off before going to bed, only to come down in the morning to find it switched on with nobody logged in

It did this on launch day as well.
