**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

I feel dirty but I'm considering going back to PC gaming after 8 years away. I'm just not feeling these new consoles and have been looking at steam for the first time in my life :D

If I'm going to have issues renting or borrowing I might as well just use steam and get a better bargain on day 1. The Xbone announcement was so bad they should have just held back saying anything about the 2nd hand market and always on until someone that actually knew could answer. Rather than what we have now where they have ****ed off a load of people by not offering any definate facts.

Sony on their PS4 still haven't fixed the placement of their left thumb stick. That's a good enough reason to get an Xbox One over the PS4.

Even though I won't be getting the xbone there's no way Icould uuse the PS3 controller. (it's the convex hard to reach left stick and the flimsy feel to it, it almost feels I'm holding two controllers.. One in each hand)

For most it doesn't make a difference but for me its a deal breaker. It is after all the most important bit of the console imo

The issues around 2nd hand will push me completely to steam big picture. If only they had more local two player games!

Make sure you wash first, there is a test to join the master race.

I'm still waiting for the day that Steam are forced to offer trade-ins/a games marketplace in the EU. Doesn't seem to be much point in the EU ruling that we have the right to resell digital copies of software if it's never enforced.

Then again, if it means we see higher prices as a result (quite possible) then I'd rather things just stayed the way they are. Weekend deal; Alan Wake for £2.30? So much gaming for less than the price of a pint!

If you own a headset from one of the bigger brands, you can bet they will pay the license to stay in business like turtle beach has.

I've got some Turtle Beach DX12's at the moment. I'm fairly confident that an adapter will be released allowing me to use these with an Xbone. Even if it's £20 i'm not too bothered as that's still cheaper than a brand new pair of headphones and will probably be around the same price as a bog standard Xbone headset.

And both give you bags under the eyes.

Personally I think in the 450-500 range.
But anything ATM is a total stab in the dark, it depends what ps4 is, it depends if they are prepared to sell it at under cost and if so by how much.
Most people are expecting £399 but not sure why they are so convinced its going to be that, I haven't seen anything to back this up other than a retail outlet doing a pre-order at that price, but like all the others it doesn't mean it will be.

This is what I am hoping too, annoying to have found a set up I really like (astro mixamp +PC360's) and then not be able to use it on the new consoles. I know there was a rumour going round that microsoft might do something that means 3rd parties have to pay to use a microsoft patent to be able to build headset, though haven't read much in the last week so don't know if this has been confirmed or debunked yet.

Worry for me is Astro aren't the quickest at releasing new products so assuming it just needs an adapater could take a while :(

wonder if either system will come with a game included? xb1+fm5 £399? would that be tempting?

Retailers will do bundles, but I doubt a launch console will come in an official bundle pack.

Although maybe MS could go all Alex Kidd and pre-install it :D

Is there a lot of people really bitching about this? we're barely getting any true 1080 games as it is and they're wanting 4k?

Well 4K TV's are going to be very popular in next couple of years and I think people are hoping that the next gen consoles may offer it ,and if they have the same life cycle as currant consoles then 8 years is a long wait so I do think its a valid point people are asking, imo I don't think either console will be powerful enough but I hope I am wrong

I agree that neither console will be effective at 4k gaming. I wouldn't touch any 4k TV thats not OLED. and I can't see that for a good few years yet.
