**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

Glasgow Fort is my "local" but they arent having it. Would need to venture into East Kilbrike or Game St Enochs but the Mrs is working both nights. So i'll pass too.

Would have been nice to get a quick hands on with the console and controller though

Remember when The XB1 voice features were first announced and everybody joked that people could just walk into your room and shout 'XBox off', but it was then claimed this wouldn't work?

Well turns out it DOES work

Strange, MS said that for actions like turning the Xbox off, it would require a confirmation to make sure this didn't happen. Maybe that hasn't been implemented fully yet?

Quite possibly, considering MS were the inventors of UAC when you needed to confirm confirm that you definitely did want to do anything by saying yes yes ok yes :p

If its with devs for gaming it might not have its own full functionality implemented while they figure out the quirks on it. Unless the dev's confirmed they had 'final' revisions of the console AND its software, which I very much doubt.

Yeh it would make sense to need a confirmation, maybe it's part of the day 1 patch?

I doubt 'xbox go home' will need a confirmation though, as it can just suspend your game and take you to the menu

Do people think that in a few months you'll be able to purchase an XBO without a kinect? I genuinely have zero interest in that aspect of it.

Definitely not in a few months, but perhaps 18 months down the line if Sony are still comfortably ahead in sales (as I am sure they will be at the start), they may well release a Kinect-less SKU simply to make it cheaper than the PS4. MS have stated they won't do this, but if they're being continually outsold then they may have to change their stance.

Thats a shame.

Will see what happens. If I had one with it no doubt I would use certain aspects but for the most part it would either be disabled or unplugged :p

What?! I literally have no idea what you just said there! :p

MS have stated they won't do this,

If they've said it then they'll stick to it. It's not like them to do any U-turns. Oh...hold on a sec.....

I sincerly hope not. Any useful in-game usage of Kinect 2 will depend on its availability.

If every Xbox has it, then some usage will be present, hopefully a good use, and continuing on through the life-cycle of the Console.

Nobody really cares about wafting their arms around in the living room anymore though, especially not if they are expected to pay through the nose for it.
