Xbox One X

And the RDR development cycle burned out the dev team. They were probably sick of it by the end and maybe didn't want to do the PC version. Maybe GTA 4 didn't sell well enough (with that janky Games for Windows Live rubbish) to warrant a port of RDR? I dunno.

Anyhoo, it's nice that they're doing all these X enhancements but they're still missing some games that truly deserve patches, namely the Rare games (come on Microsoft, don't you own the IP for Kameo and Viva Pinata? You could do those any time!) and the Mass Effect and Dead Space trilogies.

Although I've had RDR since release I just couldn't get into it, I installed it on the X a few weeks ago but again didn't play it so now may be a good time to play it for II comes out.

Ordered one X ,
Yay ☺. Any problems with units (read about some one here) ? Or been ironed out now ?

Chances are you'll be fine but it has been a very hit and miss start to X with a fairly high number of problems, certainly quite a few on here which is just a small selection. I still have random issues with mine, it shutdown a few times the other night but has been fine since.

my xbox one x has been in surge protector since release, infact that surge protector then runs into my other surge protector with all my PC,TV 4k Monitors, speakers, switch and PS4 pro and 6 external HDD and has been perfectly fine. So some will be ok some maybe not, take your pick, lol

Thanks for your replies. Got two games battlefield one and Fallout 4 digital, put thousands of hours on those.

Always intended to get through bioshock infinite.

I spoke too soon, had a lock up first thing tonight black screen and a loud buzzing which wouldn't stop without a proper power down. Worked fine all night after that.

Yes but to be honest it didn't seem that much different only higher res, it looks good but it did before, also it wasn't HDR which was disappointing.

Yep, been waiting for this to get patched, still runs very well even at 4k under dynamic scaling but HDR would have been nice

Got it today, you could pay 2000 on a PC and it wouldnt be as good as this.

Note,
the power lead really needs to pushed in. Very tight fit. Anyone else get that with the unit?

Brilliant, very pleased.

Yeah, I'm really wondering whether I should bother with a new PC at all now. For the price of a reasonable gaming PC and monitor (£1400) I could buy the Xbox One X, a 4K TV and a cheap laptop.

The only thing with the One X that annoys me, is that it isn't standard to put a 4K/30fps or 1080P/60fps option in 'enhanced' games. Majority of the time I'd much prefer a solid 60fps over 4K. Sea of Thieves is a perfect example of a game that should be running 60fps no fuss, but instead I'm locked in to 4K/30, which after playing at 1080P/60 on PC feels sooooo sloooooow and sluggish :(
