Xbox Scorpio

I'll tell you now that Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon 3 will be running in 4K natively. Whether it will be 30 or 60fps is uncertain.

Can't they let us decide between 1080p with high settings and 4k with poverty spec settings?

Will auto detect 1080p or 4K TV, no-one wants 1080p on 4k screen.

Halo 5 does hit 60FPS/1080p thats running on 1.5TFLOP. i'm sure with 6+TFLOP and better CPU can hit 4K.

What i'm saying is may not be 4k all the time, same with current 1080p on halo 5 :)

Ideal (4K at 60 FPS)
OS: Windows 10 64-bit version 1511
Processor: Intel Core i7-6700k @ 4 Ghz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980ti
AMD Radeon Fury X
HD Space: SSD + 30 GB
RAM: 16 GB
VRAM: 6+ GB

Spec for 4k mode on Forza 6, must be spec for new xbox :)

If you look up TFLOPS for 980Ti its around 6 TFLOPS :)

Halo 5 never runs at 1080p60, it dynamically scales between 1152×810 and 1536×1080.

The game is also frequently slated for being very sparse/bland compared to the previous games, which was done to maintain 60fps without dropping to 720p.

The Scorpio is nowhere near powerful enough for 4K60 gaming without having it on low graphical settings. An amazing looking game at 1080p is much more desirable than a sparse 4K game unless you just want to wave your Johnson around at the higher numbers.

they said true 4k gaming at E3, so lets wait and see, shall we?

Just invested using the popular deal that everyone is currently taking advantage £224. Figured i was going to buy Fifa 17 anyway so that makes it 184 and then i can just sell my day one edition for about £150 ish so it's only a small investment to get the most out of my 4k tv :). Delivery scheduled for some point before Monday.

It's good that they are even carrying on with hardware side of things. I was fully in the camp that said by 2020 we'd all be using thin clients and streaming our games from datacentres - meaning devs could utilise any level of power they wanted and end users would never need to upgrade again. But I guess access to the internet still hasn't caught up enough?

When companies like BT openreach exist stuff like that will always be a pipedream.

Plus, companies like Sony and MS will have to depend on them to be able to exist. Not a good negotiation position to have.

You can do 4k gaming on a phone Mr Rolleyes.

There's lots of factors that create graphics, resolution is just one. MS would be better and the machine more desirable to me if they didn't force 4k and let devs choose. Imo forcing devs to use a res that is effectively 4x1080p screens at once on a GPU that simply cannot handle it at the same time as running high levels of effects would be a complete waste of everyone's time.

Thankfully I don't think they will.
