Xbox Scorpio

try it with a trey

Terrible IMO - coming from someone who had an ex that wouldn't allow me to use a gaming PC upstairs as she deemed it un-sociable I had a gaming laptop and I tried every method I could to sit in the living room with her and using trays, laptop trays , sofa dinner tables - the lot to get even a suitable surface for a mouse and use the laptop keyboard. It was terrible beyond belief..

Cause she is now an ex for many reasons other then this one..

Haha I never knew she was now an ex! I remember your struggle with the gaming laptop. Just assumed she accepted you and allowed much more gaming. Glad you're now in a better place :D

Yep. Funny thing is, I've only just purchased a desktop gaming PC to replace the laptop I got due to her and her moaning about gaming upstairs.

Anyhow, its done, and I'm enjoying life again and even my daughter enjoys picking up a gamepad to play a bit of Lego on PS4, X1 or even PC. Its all good.

i think it will work one of 2 ways it will be in the range of affordable but will either run games at native 4k at 30fps or upscale from a weird resolution like the xbox one does like 900p,792p etc or it will be expensive running at 4k 60fps sacrificing other graphical features and reducing others to reach that performance at which point you might as well just get as pc. If it's going to cost 600-700+ linus tech tips done a build guide for a 4k gaming pc for £1000 2 years ago so it wouldn't be much of a stretch to think you could put something together that performs better at 600-700 in 2016 and 4k monitors have come down in price now too.

Come on man, why post a response if it's not readable?

Will games be done in 4k? Or is it just upscaling all the games to 4k?

Going by the last few post... £600? Ouch sure i read not long ago they was going to amaze us with the price £350ish.

They haven't mentioned a price yet but the tone of the presentation seemed to suggest that this machine will not be for everyone, and yes, it'll cost more than we're used to. Current decent 4k players are around £600 so most seem to be ball parking it around the same.

Chances of it running at 60fps 4k is next to none. And what about people on 1080p TVs? Not many people own 4k TVs, and if they do somehow get games at 4k 60fps (which even PCs can't do unless thousands are spent on them) what will the graphical quality be of said games? Low? Somehow even lower than low settings to achieve 60fps? Cause if that's the case, this sounds like a Scorpio would be a downgrade to anyone not on a 4k TV as you'll be running games that have worse graphical settings than those on Xbox ONE at the same resolution on your TV.

Though on a side note, if they reduce console 'generations' to 4 years instead of 8, that could be great for gaming as a whole.

It's like back to the PS2/Gamecube days, where you could use a composite/scart or component lead. Easy to do really.

not sure im going to bother with the scorpio but was interested in picking up the slim , although even with that i have read if you get a 4k tv yo need to get one with hdr 10 and not dolby vision as the slim will support hdr 10 with enhanced colours . Only samsung and lg i think are making tvs with hdr 10 compatibilty and the others are choosing the dolby vision route. is this bluray v hd-dvd all over again lol

Devs have already said making a game to run at 4K for a console is a waste, as the average console gamer is sitting back from a larger home screen.

But imagine what they could do with 1080p with every single bell and whistle maxed out, and then some.

I'd be happy with that, and would amazing, My 4K tv will probably help to make it looks even better

imagine BF1 running at MAX resolution with 60fps minimum

Is this the first time ever we may agree? :p
