Maybe Gabe Newell is thinking of selling up and moving to New Zealand? He has been stuck there because of Covid and apparently loves the place. So first dibs to Microsoft for buying Valve. Who knows. :D

Anyone else when they heard about the nvme drive and it had mentioned raw and compressed speeds thought perhaps the games will be compressed so utilise less space? Or am I barking up the wrong tree ?

I don't really know but I'll guess anyway and say that it's only the textures (being compressed with BCpack) that will make any difference to the size. I don't know if compression of sound files makes much difference?

Question regarding gold and sharing etc.

My son has my one x which has my account still on it and his. When I get my SX and set it up with my account will my son still be able to use gold etc ?

Thanks

Well they are changing the login system around this time so that when you log in to a new place (XCloud, XSX, PC, whatever) it won't log you out of Xbox One, etc. But I don't think this changes licences. You'll probably have to keep your One X as your Primary/Home console so your son can use that. Which means you'll always need to be connected to the internet on XSX.

you don’t get that wow feeling like before.

My brain is currently conditioned to PS3-level visuals. I've been using that console for almost a month now catching up on some old trophies and whatnot. Saving all the PS4 games to play on PS5 so I'm expected to be "wowed" when I get one. :p I haven't had an Xbox for years so looking forward to being "wowed" by Gears 2 and 3 in 4K as well. :p

I disagree. I’ve already played Gears 5 on my PC albeit at 1080p and thought it was the second best entry. Loved it. Hence why I am looking forward to playing them all again on Xbox in 4K. I can’t wait for Gears 6 to come along.

Looking at the recent dashboard and UI video, I noticed when he plugs in the SSD the available space goes from 248mb to 1tb. So either the available space readout doesn't show decimals of TB or the memory sticks don't give a genuine 1tb extra space and only 750mb. Is that the same on current gen when you have over a TB of space?

248 + 920 (max space on SSD cart) = 1168 MB or 1.14TB but there were extra games installed on the cart which then appeared in the Game Library as they weren't there initially. I think Fusion Frenzy was one of them.

That's the best thing I saw in that video, that you just plug the cart in, the library updates automatically and you're good to go.

There is something fishy going on with Series S as it is missing things from Gears 5 as well. I thought it was supposed to be identical apart from resolution...

  • PC Ultra visual feature set (this is more true on Series X)
  • 60 FPS (Series X only) cinematics allowing more seamless blending between gameplay and cinematics

Lol, of course it can’t download to the Xbox without an Xbox, how stupid do you think I am?! :) (Maybe don’t answer that :p )

It's not necessarily a stupid comment. In theory, you could download the XVD (Xbox Virtual Disk) package with the game on a Windows PC and then transfer it across via network or USB.
