I thought I was losing it. Strange bugs and random crashes galore. Performance Mode on a Series X.

No issues at all on the non Ultimate Edition.
I had a crash to homescreen yesterday in performance mode, I was only viewing the upgrades at the time. Hopefully the devs are on it.

My launch one was AO, my 2nd is Very. I would never use shopto or Game for anything, don't even look at those sites. Ao, very and currys is all I use. I got 7 ps5s using those. Not to sell , but me and my 2 boys have a ps5 each. My partners two sons have one each and my nephew has one. The 7th was a spare in case one never turned up, I just returned it to currys for a refund.

Damn a lot of consoles in one house then! 5 PS5's and 2 Series X's!

No m8, I don't live with my girlfriend. Just me and my two boys, been down that route before. Much prefer my own house lol.

Ahh ok then! I have to admit the thought of 7 new gen consoles in one house was like .

Still a lot of moolah to drop in one go but to be honest they do last years and it's about the cost of a good PC setup. I take it you all play together a little?

Yeah we all play together, they were xmas presents. They had gaming laptops which are a little out of date now. As you say cost of new PCs/Laptops the consoles were the cheaper route.

On my playthrough I noticed it seemed to happen entering or leaving menus. Pretty sure it never crashed during actual gameplay. Was annoying either way.

There doesn't seem to a console deals thread so I'll just put a couple of deals in here for Xbox - both The Darkness and Red Dead Redemption are on sale this week. They were exclusive to Xbox 360 and PS3 so if you were PC-only, you'll never have played them before. Both excellent. :)

the shop with BUY in its name had over 100 units. 10min after stock alert i was still able to add to basket and check out but chickened out as I didnt want watchdog legion prefer to get the unit and controller only

costco has the same deal but £10 more and plus they charge delivery as well.

Has anyone moved from a gaming pc and steam library to Xbox series X and have any comments they can share with me about the move?

I'm thinking of giving up on pc gaming and getting a series X if I can find one but will be using it at a desk with 1440p 144hz monitor and the thought of losing my steam library is a bit daunting even if I don't play 90% of the games in there!

Thanks

I feel like I’m in the middle of the transition. I never was a”proper” PC gamer as I don’t use a high refresh monitor, keyboard, mouse nor mods so I don’t miss any of that. It’s difficult playing older games because 720p and 1080p look a bit gah after playing in 4K.
I have a ton of games on Steam but some of them are coming up in Xbox sales so I’m grabbing them as I go along. The Xbox just loads everything faster than PC now and switching between games with Quick Resume is fantastic. I also like being able to download games on standby.

Yup, that’s me. Huge steam library, don’t play most of them. My new lounger, 120hz 55’ TV, game pass, no driver fussing, no faffing with graphics settings, wireless headset/controller, I’ve not looked back or have any intention of using my gaming pc again for anything other than work. It’s been great and I’ve not finished so many games in a long time. MS should be commended for the gaming environment they’ve setup.

Plus now that consoles finally have SSDs, 60fps locks, 4K it’s even better. Plus quick resume is something PCs don’t have and when it works it’s wonderful.

How do you download games on standby using an app or something?

I'm mostly looking at gamepass I've not paid full price for a game in years

It does sound good on a TV but I'll be stuck with a monitor, what headset are you using? I have a wired hyper X jobby but I think I'll have to sell it and go wireless?

I'm in that frame of mind too. What I'm doing is just keeping my PC as it is, basically treading water so to speak. It's there for playing through back catalog of games, and any new games I now just get on console instead, unless they are PC exclusive, which for me are only really certain grand strategy/4X/RTS games which don't really require a high end PC to play. I doubt I'll ever get rid of PC entirely, I just won't upgrade it unless something stops working.

Nope you won't need to get rid if it has a 3.5mm jack. I have a HyperX headset and it can be plugged into the 3.5mm jack on the Xbox pad.

Ah the jack on the pad, of course sorry I forgot about that my mind is swimming with options at the moment

My headset is stereo does it emulate surround or do you need a specific 5.1/7.1 headset for that?

I don't know if keeping my pc and having both is an option although I do like RTS I just don't have the room for both my desk is only 128cm wide and I want a 32" monitor
