Ah the jack on the pad, of course sorry I forgot about that my mind is swimming with options at the moment

My headset is stereo does it emulate surround or do you need a specific 5.1/7.1 headset for that?

I don't know if keeping my pc and having both is an option although I do like RTS I just don't have the room for both my desk is only 128cm wide and I want a 32" monitor

Could you not put the PC tower on the floor, and the Xbox on desk next to monitor? The Xbox in the vertical position won't take up much room.

You can get the Xbox to use Windows sonic for headphones like on the desktop, or pay for dolby atmos, however I have mine hooked up to external speakers so don't really use the headset that often.

That’s my setup with my PC tower and X setup.

Atmos is great on the X.

Can't, two young kids so floor isn't an option I'm worried enough with it on a desk tbh the youngest is like Spiderman

I've never heard of windows sonic, I've been using a senheiser gsx which is pretty amazing but of kit and very simple to use so not sure how I would go about achieving surround on a stereo headset or if I need to buy a headset with surround built in

Out of interest, did you try Windows sonic to compare? I think atmos would be a waste for me as I use my 5.1 setup 99% of the time

I tried both on PC and there didn’t seem to be much difference on my DT990s. On the X there seemed to be much more coming from Atmos, especially on titles that integrate it. There’s a free trial that you can try.

Turtle Beach DSS2 with optical in from an Xbox X sounds way better through a decent pair of headphones (Fidelio X2HR) compared to Windows Sonic or Dolby Atmos plugged into the controller of a Series X.

Such a shame they ditched optical out on the Series X. Sound is just as important as the visuals to me. I'd have kept my Series X otherwise.

Just don't buy into the tied peripherals MS kerching thing

I thought the series s supported bluetooth headphones but disappointingly it doesn't. Just using the headphone jack out of the TV to the bluetooth transmitter that came with my ps headset and tbh it sounds fine. Will make do until I buy a TV that supports bluetooth.

I'm not buying a different headset for each console, no reason either one can't just support bluetooth as standard.

Received my xbox today and I've spent the night playing Valhalla and Desperados 3. Im over the moon with it.

Its crazy what you get for money compared to pc right now.

Valhalla is stunning. It was one of the first games where I thought, yup, money well spent, perfect time to have made the jump.

I must try Desperados.

Yeah it had the same impact on me that Horizon Zero Dawn did (similar style games tbh). My pc isnt exactly crap but this xbox has made it feel dated. The load times on the series x are so much faster too.

Definitely give desperados a go. Its a really nice slow paced chilled out game. I have become less patient with games as I've gotten older but this game just allows me to ponder a little and restart sections instantly once I screw up.

Bluetooth audio latency is way too high for gaming. That’s why none of the manufacturers support it as it’s generally an unacceptable experience.

It's fine, all this latest low latency nonsense is a just way to squeeze more money out of gamers.

My headset goes headphone jack out, transmitter and then BT headphones, still only a tiny tiny delay.

Wonder when new stock will be available. I have canceled my shopto “back order”. I would rather just buy one when it’s in stock.

They are in stock for literally minutes before ending up on ebay. I think it's going to be like this for a good few months yet.
They can't get the parts to build them quick enough for one thing.

It’s ridiculous really.
We’re 3 months in and new stock is literally available for seconds.
Had a x in my basket and in the time it took to press check out it was out of stock as these bots automate the entire process.
There are people on Reddit showing off at how they’ve managed to get and sell on 10+ units now

Scalpers prices arent as insane anymore according to my check on gumtree. Some sell for £500. A 10% profit for these greedy sods isn't too horrendous I suppose.

Especially when you consider retailers are scalping on GPUs

The PS5s are still going for crazy money on ebay....and they're selling!

£600+ for the digital edition
disc model is silly money

Oh yeah PS5 prices are still bloody stupid.

I was fortunate to pick up my series x from a member here at a fair price. Id like a ps5 in the future but might even go as far as waiting to see if there is a mid gen refresh on them in a few years

I'm chomping at the bit to get one. There's a few PS exclusives I'm itching to play, but not going to pay scalper prices.
