About 12gig I think
For those who have now played the game - how do you think the game experience compares to the demo? I loved the original XCOM and played it to death on my Amiga - but I wasn't keen on the demo when I played it - the maps were very small and confined, there seemed to be no inventory or "load-out" before the missions and the overall feeling was that it was a 'simplified' version of the old game.
However, I know that it's difficult to get a real feel for a game like this from such a short demo - so, I thought I'd seek the views of the fine people on this forum...
Thanks in advance...![]()
Its still good, coulda been much much better.
Am I the only one finding classic insanely hard - don't seem to have enough money todo anything![]()
Played the original to death back in the day so tried the demo last night was ok, so might take the plung apart from I couldn't get it working in Nvidia Surround it rendered the game upsidedown, quick google search found a few others with this problem but didn't really look hard for a fix.
Does the surround work in the full version?
After a repeated bouts of wtf pwnage in the first mission or two, I finally got a Classic Ironman campaign under way.April is almost over and my rocket happy heavy, Major Vasquez has 29 kills in 10 missions, the rest are lagging a bit behind and the bodybags are starting to fill up.
The tactical combat really keeps you wanting to do one more mission, but I get the feeling my campaign is nearing a point where I need to be paying attention, so I'll start up again tomorrow. My major niggle at the moment is the inability to chose your soldiers nationality. I've had no British soldiers recruited in any of my sessions today, which means, I have unable to create myself. Then again that's probably saved me from the attentions of the Chrysalids.
One suspects that first terror mission is where a lot of campaigns go belly up.

Hi Tals, I would strongly recommend that one of the first things you do is build another satellite, definitely have it built and deployed prior to the months end.
It takes 20 days to build, costs $100 on classic (not sure if different on any other difficulties, only played on classic) and if you deploy it to the USA you will get an additional $180, (Russia $150) at months end, take your pick.
I would then strongly advice getting an additional sattelite building installed next to the first one, this will allow to you get 5 sattelites in total.
Pump them out asap and you will have a much easier time financially. Thats what I did at least when I finished the game.![]()
Good calls, rerolled, starting in Africa and working on the Satellites, financially I am in a better place![]()
