anyone know how many posts one needs to sell on the members market? -

I think its 1000 posts now

It is.

I think Im going to order a dual dvi cable in advance ... have read some posts about issues with their included cable.

-thanks for the info on the members market-

It means that the paperwork for your package is sitting in HM Customs and Excise at Stansted, apparently.

Cheers, rang them and they said it should be delivered today, think it's time for some customer invoicing and quotations in the office today!!
Fingers crossed, might have some crappy oversized pictures posted soon.

I'm having one small issue with my monitor - every so often when I turn it on, I get a garbled mess of multicoloured vertical lines on the screen. Turning it off and on again fixes this. It seems to usually happen if my PC has been left for a period of time so it's possibly related to screensaver/video card turning off the monitor after a certain period of time. The other thing I was thinking is it might be the DVI cable - it looks very much like what Balb0wa got with a normal DVI cable in this post. I'm using the cable supplied with the monitor as I got no display at all with a single link cable. THink it's worth me just ordering a new cable to see if it helps?

Mines been in this country since the 8th

It's due today, Parcel Force had better do, I'm sick of waiting!

I plan on doing a video review of it later (if it arrives) using my sgs2 camera, not the best but will do 1080 and look ok if there's enough light.

It's the multi input version, so has a dvi, hdmi and vga inputs I believe. If there's anything you want to see in the video let me know.

I will test it with my ps3, my macbook through a cheap hdmi dongle and of course my pc. I also have a vga cable for my xbox I may try out, depends if I can be bothered getting it from the living room!

Jake, I would love to see that as soon as it's up.
I've been thinking of getting the multi version myself, which seller did you get it from and how much did you end up paying? They seem to be around £300 now?

I got it from green-sum for £294, it then got stopped at customs so I've had to pay £23.58 import VAT and a £13.50 Parcelforce clearance fee, so the total was approximately £331

I think with this seller the chances of it getting stopped at customs are very high, if fact I think in general it looks like more are getting stopped than are getting through. Definitely budget for the VAT and clearance fees if you plan on going for one.

Had you asked him to mark it as a gift or at any specific value?

I'm just tossing up whether the HDMI port is worth the extra £70 over the Dual link only version, as all it would get used for is the odd bit of freeview HD, as I am running a hackintosh I can't use a USB freeview stick to get an HD picture and would need a standalone box as SDTV is a horror show to my eyes nowadays!

Anyway, hope it arrives soon and look forward to that review! Have you seen the club thread on overclock.net? they have some pre calibrated profiles you can download for the pc which might save you some time.

I asked the seller if they had and they said it was marked as a gift at a value of $70.

I figured I needed more inputs being a uni student, I don't have much space and I will use this screen for everything. I don't have a freeview hd box yet but the rarity and expense of hd tv tuners for pcs may cause me to get one.

I was hoping the multi version has an osd for calibrating but we'll see. I've had a good look through that forum and seen those profiles, I hadn't looked any further into them though as I figured each screen may be different. I was also thinking about buying something to calibrate it but I haven't a clue about that stuff.

btw what monitor is this? the catleap? ... looking forward to your video review also ...
my monitor should be here hopefully this week.

I was seriously tempted to get one of these at one point but paying double for pixel guarantee/3 years warranty and a premium build from Dell is too much to turn down especially for just twice the price. And I'm sure a few features are missing that are in the premium panels (whether I use them or not) it's nice to know they're there like grey to grey acceleration and what not.

Would definitely get these though if I wanted to run eyefinity/surround.

One thing that's in favour of these is that they're glossy unlike the Dell which simply means a better picture (although at the cost of more reflections). The 27" Hazro's make for a better comparison.

Glossy is definitely better if you can control outside light at all times I can't unfortunately, I was going to go with the Hazro until I realised the Dell is better suited for my room/lighting conditions.
