With the correct test images and tools a full minute is surprisingly long enough to test a screen for dead pixels (although a good company liek dell would obviously take longer, but this company I bet you dont)
Just sit infront of your mnitor and time for an entire minute, its longer than you think ;)

Ouch dude :(
But you KNEW it was faulty why open it up

Have you tried speaking to the seller again with your findings?
A long shot I know but you can prove it was faulty.

These screens are just looking better and better!
not had any reply from OcUK as to wether they will be stocking them.

Are any of them VESA compliant?

Seriously getting more and more tempted wonder how my lowly 6950 2Gb would play games this size tho :(

Are these all just eBay sellers you guys are getting them from?
Whats the options without the glass panel?

You could likely spot a dead pixel in a minute a fair proportion of the time but to do the job properly would take longer, which was my point.

The lack of time spent doing the checking (assuming it's actually done at all) is likely why some of the "Pixel Perfect" monitors aren't "Pixel Perfect".

Yes i knew it was faulty, but no matter what you do, theres a doubt in your mind that it could be something else, even though id tried different cards/cables etc. could it have been a dodgy power brick etc.

And if i knew it was faulty, why waste £70 sending it to the seller, for him to say, no its fine, or yes its faulty, you just dont know what they will say.

Ive sent him a link to a thread ive done, pics vids, see if hes a good chap or not ;) he only tends to reply once every 24hrs

Hi there

We've looked into Yamakasi and Shimian in Korea, but are failing to get any response from either manufacturer, infact searching for either company on google gives very poor results.

Even though this entire thread is a complete breach of OcUK rules, as its full of competitor talk I shall continue to leave it for now. :)

Unless we can get a direct response from the manufacturer, we won't be selling this product as we won't buy from another reseller who is overseas on monitors as the after support, warranty will just be more or less none existent and far too much hassle.

From judging by what I've read online, good support on these would be crucial as the quality seems questionable, though the value is for sure unbeatable, but as a reseller we need a direct relationship with the manufacturer with good after support and warranty so that we can knowingly swap them out for customers with zero hassle.

I may be able to obtain PC Bank and Crossover models though, but no promises.

You are very very good to keep this thread up OCUK, any other retailer would have taken it down a long time ago but you value your community :)

Were leaving it because right now were not willing to sell these due to them basically having no warranty.

As shipping faulty panels back to Korea is not an option, so any faulty ones we sold or took back, we'd essentially have to skip them or try to repair, all of which is very expensive.

As were an Etailor we can't just sell them with no warranty at a crazy cheap price like Ebay sellers are.

As such were happy to leave for now as some people are willing to take the risk of having no warranty essentially, but at the same time the value is very good if you get a working one.

But like I say I am in discussions to see what is possible.

Yeah pretty decent of OCuk to allow this thread, especially given the amount of posts when it clearly contravenes the forum rules. Lets people who are jumping on board have a voice and some support without recommending any other UK competitors

And really to be honest there aren't any competitors to be worried about here, it's half the price of any UK model so it's either somethign you take a risk on or not, not like saying got the rain forest retailer and get it for half price or anything. Guess that's why it is being allowed so cheers :)

And the late night impulse got the better of me, just ordered one, here's hoping it's not gubbed :)

Yeh is very understandable, your a reputable company and are only keeping your customers safe at the end of the day.

These are basically the hazro 27wc models ... to be honest if the hazro was 350 again I might of been tempted to get one of those instead (and maybe I will regret my purchase like Balb0wa is clearly doing atm (geez dude you sure put a lot of effort into trying to get that to work).

btw Balb0wa are there now scratches on your screen and the case? ... (couldnt tell from your pics). Seems like you like the quality of the monitor but then you obviously dont like the results of trying to fix it ...

what do you hope the seller does now? ... you really think he will refund you? ... sad but true in what gibbo said - we are dealing with a company from south korea so take a risk when we order these.

GL with it hope it gets worked out ...

yep scratches on screen, blood on bezel, cut on my thumb, its all tickety boo, screen is very very nice though, slightly glossy, but very very crisp.

Im hoping he will send me a new one out, we shall see.

I have recieved my email from bigclothcraft, asked him to put down $75 USD

anyway, not sure OCUK should be selling these. They already have the Hazro so why bother getting these in? OCUK don't want a boat load of questionable monitors on sale. They need to keep quality components IMHO

These should be left to the ebay sellers so we can decide ourselves if we take the risk and get huge savings.
