I have recieved my email from bigclothcraft, asked him to put down $75 USD

anyway, not sure OCUK should be selling these. They already have the Hazro so why bother getting these in? OCUK don't want a boat load of questionable monitors on sale. They need to keep quality components IMHO

These should be left to the ebay sellers so we can decide ourselves if we take the risk and get huge savings.

ya agree with you on that ...

These are basically the hazro 27wc models ... to be honest if the hazro was 350 again I might of been tempted to get one of those instead (and maybe I will regret my purchase like Balb0wa is clearly doing atm (geez dude you sure put a lot of effort into trying to get that to work).

They are not!

Hazro use different internal components of a much higher grade. The only thing in common is the LG IPS panel, but the components around the panel, actual build quality, plus Quality Control is far far higher on the Hazro. Plus the fact Hazro are using Grade A panels, wheras it seems an unknown on the quality of the panel in some of these as the amount of issues with dead pixels seems high.

Having being in this industry now for 10+ years and knowing several manufacturers of LCD including those who have spent time in Korea, the quality expectation over their is a lot lower than in Europe, UK and USA. Only manufacturer to be excluded from this is Samsung as they manufacturer in Korea.

Were having to review these monitors very closely, we can't resell a brand which potentially has a massive RMA issue, we either bring these in and aim to be competitive, as such would only make in the region of 15% which right now would not cover the expected failure rate, dead pixels, DOA's etc. So the other option is we more expensive and make circa 30-40% to cover cost and potential RMA's to ensure were not selling at an overall loss.

Then we have to factor in if we want to sell a brand/product which has a high risk of not satisfying the customer, as this reflects on ourselves.

Agreed and is why we've not bothered yet, Shimian we can obtain, but right now the quality is too questionable for us, we don't want to sell something which a lot of our customers would be dissapointed in and also potentially result in us loosing money.

You guys are happy to take a risk on these. If OcUK offer these then a lot of customers will buy and we risk upsetting many customers if they get none satisfactory equipment due to faults and lack of QC.

I asked for 3 Pixel Perfect monitors and all are fine my mate just got his 3 this morn and all 3 are ok, but my bro got a none checked model and it has 1 pixel out :) so I would say they do check them.. Considering I live on the Isle of Man and even items I get from the Uk get damaged in transit the monitors come from Korea without a mark on the box and faster than anything I can get from Uk with normal post :) DHL rock!

im thinking what Gibbo has said about questionable reliability and lower grade components of these imports and also looking at some of the horror stories above with pics of glass removed to have to reconnect a cable that really should never of happened just makes me want my new u27 even more tbh. i dont think OC should stock stuff that has no real long term guarantee of consistency of build and components that are not it seems up to the acceptable standard. i know the argument is but i can buy 2 of these for the price of a dell etc feel sorry for balb0a having to do all that hacking of the glass just to fix a lead that is bad and 70 quid to return it plus the whole thing of the customs varing so much etc etc for the sake of £200 quid wouldnt it be better to buy something from OC that you know you will have no problems with and have a decent returns policy and turnaround time?

I agree with Gibbo, however we need to remember that Hazro seem to have quite a bit of dust trapped behind their glass models. If they can sort this out, and perhaps change the design they have a big winner on their hands

Regarding the catleap....well, unless you have a DOA you can't grumble as they are so cheap

yes, I wouldn't buy one of these screens, 95% of time it is fine but for those few that it goes badly, it it really a pain in the back side.

To be fair even with Hazro you get shoddy stands and the warranty is not really that amazing that is why I only buy Dell or HP when it comes to monitors.

My monitor has arrived and now it's all set up and working. It's a 2B, supposedly overclockable version.

Oh my God. What an amazing screen.

It was packaged in plain brown paper so I was a little worried. But it's fine, and not a single dead or defective pixel. No lean on the stand either, and backlight bleed seems good too.

Really happy :)

as always....you get what you pay for

If there was anyway you could get the Hazro WC model back down to £350 like has happened on a couple of previous occasions I would have thought many potential buyers would go in that direction and wouldn't give the Korean angle a second look.

I have several friends who admire my Hazro WA but balk at the price and even £420 for the WC is too much for them. I have one friend who is patiently waiting in the hope the £350 price becomes available again.

Indeed - I only paid £520 for my U2711 a year and a half ago. It was a good purchase, as Balbowa my monitor was defective upon arrival but the Customer service was different. Called them and a few days later they dropped a new monitor and got the old one.

To me the fact that I can do that for 3 years and that the monitor comes with a great stand, an array of connectors and better quality components easily makes the £200 on top worthwhile.

I still remember when OCUK sold those cheap VA monitors about 4 or 5 years ago whilst I still went for the 2407 even it was a good £150-£200 more expensive. Well a lot of those failed whilst I was able to sell my 2407 for £180 after all those years of use.

I second this, I kinda regret not getting one of the cheap Hazro's when they came out but there you go

Maybe in the future, but recently they have not been able to supply the volume at a consistent rate to keep a lower price point.

£350 maybe possible towards mid-end May, but no guarantee's I am afraid.

Okay i havent paid yet, was actually going to go down to the the warehouse or whatever and pick it up and pay the fee.

But it's out on delivery now...so i'm confused. Pointless going down now if it's out and about, just going to have to wait.
