I have a geforce gtx480. which isn't on their list of monitors strangely, but it has dual dvi on the back, so i figured i would get one and see.

do i need a new gfx card, or is there something ive missed?

edit:
this is the item.

The brightness up and down buttons on the back seem to work. so it seems something to do with the signal.

- Any luck Moradin?

Does the light on the monitor show red or green ?. I would try a different DVI lead as the one supplied is awful..

+1 to that the supplied DVI cable is total pants and causes so many problems. Oh and mine shows the bios screen but then doesnt show anything until windows login screen, sometimes not even that. I know Windows has loaded through the wee sound playing, I type in my password and then it works fine.

When Windows starts up you hear someone urinating?

What happens, is that initially it will have a red light.

Boot the pc up.

At the point where you would expect the picture to appear, the light on the front goes blue.

The screen changes colour slightly, from jet black, to something with a shimmer. lighter.

The buttons then can make the screen go darker or lighter. you can see this clearly.

I have tried a longer dual link Dvi, but its the same with that.

The light should be green. How do you feel about taking it apart and checking the screen signal cable is connected. It's simpler than it sounds on the pcbank....

Do you have a different gpu you could try although yours has a dual link dvi....

I don't know anyone with one of the cards that IS mentioned.

I'm not afraid to have a look inside. however, the case doesn't seem easy to open...

is there a guide anywhere, for what i'm looking for?

Unplug all the cables and lay the screen face down on a desk so its flat. Tilt the stand back to allow it to be flush on the desk.

Remove the stand by unscrewing the 4 screws on the rear of the monitor. Next work your way around the screen removing all the screws. the 3 under the power and dvi port are different to the rest.

Now flip the monitor over onto its back. The bezel is next and has clips down each side. Slip a blunt knife between the bezel to pop the clips they are not strong and remove the bezel.

Now you will see the panel and each side has 3 screws holding it to the back of the case. Remove these. Now is not a good time to slip with the screwdriver... ,,:-)

Now carefully lift the panel up so you can see the control and power boards. The panel has two connectors one on the side is the backlight and power the metal connector is the signal cable. Check the signal cable is firmly in its location and have a check around for anything else loose or not connected correctly.

Be carefull with the panel don't twist it too much...

If you look back through the thread I posted pics of the insides of the screen.

Hope that helps...

Not sure about the whole 'supported' list. I'm using a 5750 which is states is not supported and it works fine. Think they are just trying to cover themselves because some of the cards in question are available with single link connections, although the vast majority are dual link.

I must have sort of different model.

there are 3 screws to remove on the back, in the middle.

There are no screws around the screen, that i can see (on the back)

some of the front bezel has popped out, but the sides seem very tight.

the stand only had 1 screw to remove it.

Edit: think i found out why.

the black bezel at the front, is glued? to the white corner bezel.
behind the black bezel, are screws either side. (cracked the white bezel a bit discovering this...)
