well my PC bank is with everything looking like it was in good nick. BUT PC powers on and detects the screen as "digital" and is at the correct res but nothing on screen,

Green light is on and looks like power is going to the panel (monitor dims when is switched off) im using my own good quality DVI-D cable hooked up to my GTX 680 and i get the same results plugged into a radeon 5450 , any ideas before i try and pop it open ? :( :( :(

Yikes! Given what you have tried sounds like a loose connection inside given the previous posts on this thread but not sure! If you are getting green light on monitor then it's clearly getting power. Do you have a second display connected, maybe a TV via HDMI which isn't actually turned on as mine doesn't display anything on monitor if TV is attached until I actually enter my Windows password.

What about yours Moogleys?

Typing this on my panasonic 42" TV (which is also IPS) hence why i know the PC detects it

Signal lead sounds loose or not connected. Grab a screwdriver and get inside and have a look.

Signal lead is the black one with silver plug in my pic...

Thanks I'll do that now, wish me luck never opened a up a monitor let aloan one this size

Quick steps...

Lay the monitor on it's front screen down. Bend the stand back to allow the panel to lay flat.

Remove the stand (4 screws) and then follow the screws around the outside of the case remembering the 3 accross the middle.

Flip the monitor onto it's back and remove the front bezel by using soomthing smooth to prize it apart. There are clips along the edges.

Next there are 3 screws each side of the panel, undo these to be able to lift the panel up.

Be really carefull with the panel it will break easily especially if you drop or twist it.

Under the panel are the two circuit boards and the power and driver leads. It's worth having a look around and checking everything is connected.

Good luck.

Screw locations...

so all of you guys got it with no custom tax at all? how is warranty and shipping cost back to korea covered?

I had to pay £16 VAT charge on the declared value, some couriers charge before delivery some send invoices. Some will have skipped it altogether it's luck of the draw.

You would need to send it back to Korea at around £75 and hope the seller sorts it out. There have been a few of us with issues and the sellers seem helpfull and willing to sort out problems and even arrange return couriers.

Very much luck of the draw in terms of customs. I paid £13 which even considering the declared value and the import rules makes no sense but I didn't complain I paid the £13 and kept my mouth shut :)

Can't comment on returns policy but like Moogleys says seems to be relatively positive, but must be considered to be an individual thing.

good news ! poped it open checked all the connections and still no joy. Was about to throw in the towel so to speak when i tried the crapy dvi cable it came with and its works! (well i have a image on my screen) now to putt it back together and enjoy it.

Can anyone link me a 2-3meter dvi cable they know works as the one they suppled may be to short

2 meter

3 meter

5 meter

I have the 2 meter one and it's a nice thick cable and works perfect.

Is your cable deffinately a dual link DVI as a single link DVI will not work ? Dual link cables have the extra pins in the middle as per the pics in the links above.

It needs to be a DVI-D cable fella :)

Gold plated HDMI and DVI cables don't do anything. Digital signals pretty much work or don't and if they don't you replace it with another cable, no need to spend a lot on gold plated nonsense. Only thing worth paying a little extra for when covering large distances is an extra shielded cable to minimize interference.
