got my Shimian this morning, very happy with it so far... no problems at all. closer in size to my existing 24" monitors than I was expecting.

only slightly annoying thing is that I had ordered a duallink DVI cable from ocUK in case of any problems with the cable supplied - however this doesn't fit the monitor as the monitor input does not have space for the analogue pins. The cable supplied with the monitor is just long enough however and works fine. If I ever wanted to use the other cable I guess I could simply break off the extra pins! (talking about the 4 pins situated above and below the wider one)

Will have to wait and see re: customs charge - was down as $165 on the invoice

Apologies for my previous post which broke the rules (I forget sometimes that it is not only adults that can view these forums so I apologise). Amended accordingly.

Aye, really could have done without it. Monitor is perfect though, bar a bit of buzzing when on white pages with lots of text - will sort it eventually.

So I finally got around to taking a decent picture of my catleap...

That does look pretty good.. not as 'cheap' as the nay-sayers would have me believe.

How is it working out for you? Which seller did you purchase from?

I got mine from thattelevisonbrandthatisnotlg_korea, I went for a non pixel checked one and there is 1 dead pixel, that is just off centre, I can only see it on dark scenes in movies and when there is a solid dark background. It might be worth springing the extra for the pixel perfect version.

Yeah I've been wanting a decent 27" monitor for a while but balked at the Dell pricing - I would not be doing any colour-critical work with the monitor but can appreciate a better picture quality than TN. I would hate for it to arrive with dead pixels, however earlier in the thread some were speculating the screens were never checked and that it's a bit of a lucky dip?

Either way I am very impressed with the screen at this price point.

It's not as you still can get dead pixels, you'll just get one within their limits. If you can't handle a dead, stuck or defected pixels then this monitor aint for you.

But then again you could luck out like I have on my second one which has no dead pixels at all, where as some people have 20+ :(

Even with the dead pixel, I'm not disappointed at all, its an awesome screen for the money.

Although I have accidentally sorted the buzzing problem, simply by running a UK power cable rather than the korean plug through a converter. Glad I don't have to open it up.

My Shimian arrived today, it's perfect not a single dead pixel or blemish, colors, viewing angle etc all seem spot on. Games look truly epic now lol, big step up in quality from my last screen, games really do look much better at this res. My 480's are running all games tested so far over 60fps. Very happy, thankyou green-sum !!
