Just wondered if anyone recommend this for occassional photography work? As i'm looking for a new monitor and the price, high resolution, IPS panel combo of these screens are very tempting. I will just be using lightroom to convert my RAW files and some occasional photo retouching if required.

It is a bit of a gamble with these screens p2user. Some people get what seem to be perfect screens but some people get screens with dead pixels or un-even back light. My catleap is a smidgen brighter on the left hand side but it did take me over a week to notice so it really is hard to notice. You just have to remember that these monitors have A- rated panels so they have probably been rejected by HP, APPLE, DELL as they have probably been tested and have shown to not meet the specifications they require.

Cheers Kingy666, don't really mind a few dead pixels as the res is so how i presume i wouldn't notice them unless they were right at the center of the screen. Hopefully the uneven backlight shouldn't be too much of a problem. I understand for this price you can't have everything perfect :D just need to decide if to get one with hdmi or not , but thinking with the extra cost its not really worth it. I presume it best to get a spare PSU and a better dual link DVI cable?

What he said!

it is a great wee keyboard, and I really like the mouse too. Its such a shame they are so expensive over here, I bought these for $50 each in the states!

Hey guys.

Just wondering if a stock 580 and 2500k would be good enough to drive this at decent settings?

Found one rather cheap, and am really considering it!

By cheap I mean 220 quid, and the guy already has it in london, would have to just go pick it up :)

As hes selling it be careful hes not just selling it because he got a manc one.

I really cant believe how good this monitor is, got one with minimal/no backlight bleed and no dead pixels and the stand is perfectly suited for me as it can turn to the side on my desk very easy, granted it feels cheap but it does the job perfect!

I went from Viewsonic vx2268wm 1680 x 1050 22inch to BenQ XL 120hz 1920 x 1080 24inch and it felt hardly any bigger and not much better.

Bought this any everything about it is better except the refresh rate but it still seems smooth and I havent overclocked it yet.

Nice to know. I'd been eyeing up a 24" but wasn't sure if I'd get much benefit from just 2" (matron!)

I figured the extra resolution and extra 2 inches but be quite noticable but when having them side by side it wasnt much bigger at all, I actually ended up regretting it and sending it back.

The colours on the benq were nice but tv shows etc still looked sharper on my veiwsonic despite colours being more dull, hard to explain. Anyway as soon as I went to 2560 x 1440p the difference was huge! so much better!
