I'd like to say a big thanks to the OP and this thread for drawing these monitors to my attention. I ended up buying a catleap to go with a new pc I built a couple of weeks ago, and I love everything about it. However, I've had to return a faulty 7970 and have no idea how soon I'll be getting a refund/replacement, so my shiny new monitor is sitting there gathering dust as I'm forced to connect to my tv with an hdmi cable.

So my question is, my motherboard has a displayport output, so is it possible to connect this to a dual link dvi monitor?

No, maximum resolution your onboard/igp will support is 1920x1080

The catleap does not have any onboard scalers (to keep cost down) so will only take a 2560x1440 input im afraid

Apologies if this has been mentioned before, but what sort of connectivity do these have? I have a DVI-D connection from my pc, so that's no issue, but I'd also like the ability to hook my Macbook Air up to it, either by HDMI or DP ideally.

Cheap models only have DVI-D but there are multi-input versions but they cost a fair bit more and can't hit above 67hz.

Cheers, found a few around £280-300 range, but for that sort of money plus import fees, I think I'd rather go for a Dell U2410.

Still on the fence about the standard one though....£200 + fees for a 27" IPS screen is tempting!

I COULD keep my 23" tft I suppose, but I doubt I can manage with 2 monitors in uni halls!

I don't get it, don't you have customs? Here every monitor would be VAT taxed 100%.

I have HP ZR24W IPS 24'' 16:10, would i gain anything to this 27''?

Read about 10 pages into this thread, monitor looks very good!

is there any sellers still doing the 100hz/120hz capable versions of the catleap?

Also whats the best method of dodging the import taxes?

I know i have an old crappy gfx card, but will it be ok to use it as its not in the list of compatiable gfx cards? Its a Ati Radeon HD 2600 XT, and it does say it has 2 dual dvi ports at the back. Otherwise i have to by a new gfx card, just want to keep the cost of this upgrade as low as possible :D

Bones you want the "120hz catleap" monitors, just have a look but will only run at 120hz depending on gpu you have, my is running at 100hz on a 570gtx.

How do you know if the auction is a 120hz capable monitor or not?

i'm running a 560ti, so guessing will only be able to get up to 100hz.

Any recommended sellers currently?

The Overclockable ones are being released slowly at around 100 per week.
They've confirmed that they have the 2B PCB's and thus can be overclocked, but they're asking a premium :(

Best option if you 100% want the Extra Hz is to keep an eye on FS threads and the like.
I just managed to grab one :) Wasn't really too fussed about it being a 2B either tbh was just after having a try of one of these screens.

I'm not massively fussed about 100hz, I have my trusty Viewsonic 22inch 120hz. Looking for something to do video work on mainly.

I have a catleap q270 SE in my basket from green-sum at £199.90 so tempted!

Well i just couldn't resist anymore and ordered a '*Perfect Pixel -New 3VIEW PCBANK PB2700 27" LED 2560X1440 S-IPS Computer Monitor'

Price was just over £190, too good to let go. Not into gaming so this will hopefully do. Also agreeded with the seller to purchase an extra psu for $10 :D hopefully wouldn't need to be used.

Now its that waiting game - going to drive me nuts over the weekend for the wait
