Has anyone bought a non-checked monitor?

I have but it won't arrive for ages. There's suspicions that the 'checked' ones aren't even checked since people have had issues with them. Really it's the same risk as with any monitor really, if the stuck pixel count is over 5 around the edges, or 1 in the middle then you can return it. It's an LG panel I think too.

Very interested but the Dell U2711 and 1.07 Billions colours temps me more than the 16.7m which a TN panel can put out also :/

I'm not got a great knowledge of monitors so please tell me if I would even notice the difference between a 1.07B and 16.7M IPS panel.

Well, I have had about an hour to play about with the monitor since it arrived been busy with work but here goes anyway!

Initial thoughts are that this has to be the best purchase i've made in a long time, the panel arrived flawless (I did pay the extra for the pixel perfect version)

As you may have read elsewhere and what a lot of people mention, the stand isn't as sturdy as you would like it to be, can be a bit wobbly at times when you are trying to move it about, so bear this in mind.

You will need to do some adjustments in your ati/nvidia control panel to turn the brightness down a little as this thing could light up vegas!

There is also various colour profiles available, if you go back a few pages you will find links to them and how to fix colour issues in directx games, I am still tinkering with the settings on my ati panel, when I am happy with it I will list my settings here for others to try out.

All in all I am very happy with my purchase! Pics below :D

This is how the monitor arrived, wrapped in brown paper and no bubble wrap which had me a little worried at first!

Model No. Info on side of box for anyone thats interested

This is what I was presented with when taking it out of the box, everyones favourite some strong polystyrene to mess the place up!

The stand

Inside the bag of cables we had, a user manual (handy if your korean is up to scratch!), EU Power lead, Power Adapter and a DVI-D Dual Link cable

Removed the back polystyrene and I was presented with this

In the little grey back underneath the monitor was a universal travel adapter

And here it is in all its glory, took with the flash on as with it off there wasn't enough light and the monitor looked insanely bright and blue!

One more for good measure!

It wouldn't be cheap to send it back to South Korea.

Even more excited to receive mine now!
No offence though but I really dislike the Catleap's stand even more now I've seen a better picture of it, at first I thought it was white but now I see it's clear, very glad I decided to get a PCBANK instead as that seems to be the only one with a completely black bezel and stand. My desk is black glass and pretty much everything else is black so a clear stand would just look weird - I guess the stand is a personal thing though, and the monitor itself looks great, congrats!
My monitor has left a sorting facility on the outskirts of Seoul today, hoping it makes it onto a plane later on so I'll have it tuesday or wednesday :)

I don't mind the stand although I would rather it be a little more sturdy, I may end up getting one of the cheap stands that a lot of people are buying which look decent for the price of them.

Make sure you post some pictures up of the pcbank version :)

Yeah, the aesthetics are just personal.
I'll definitely post pictures of mine once it arrives!

Judging by other people's tracking info mine should be here on Tuesday, it's departed from Incheon this morning. I do have to laugh at the tracking above, how it managed to get from East Midlands to Edinburgh in 10 minutes, now that's speedy service

Looks great Baplad, thanks for the pics!

I quite like the stand too, I also love the silver piece at the back even though you won't see it most of the time... In any case at least you can change the stand or wall mount it if needs be!

I got a response from 'green-sum' (ebay seller) they said that the monitor had already been posted but he put the gift value at $90, YES! *fistpump*

Still its quite a bit lower than £100 GBP but it's 3 times the usual amount that's getting stopped by customs.

I haven't been given any of this tracking stuff :( the seller didn't even mark it as sent on ebay.
