are they still 100 mhz or not anymore ?
Samsung did release the S27A850D which confusingly enough isn't a 120Hz TN like the S27A950D and S27A750D but a 60Hz PLS. So not an IPS, but pretty much the same thing.Always had a hard choice with monitor
Seems LG and Samsung have not bothered to release 27" + IPS panels, and they seem comfortable to release TN panels for gamers with 120hertz and 3D be it active or passive.
On all the auctions they say these are not compatible with laptops with integrated graphics; why is this?
Surely my MBA which can output Dual Link DVI would be able to drive it, just like any other 27" monitor?

LG will be releasing a 3D IPS 27".. it's just passive 60Hz however.

It already disappeared off the market already however. I'm fairly sure they'll be releasing better screens with the same technology/screen size. The S27A850D had quite a lot of backlight bleed problems, hopefully they managed to resolve that.
In North America they are quietly switching over to the S27A850T (very similar model, possibly an upgraded panel and some slight input changes). They are soon to release the S27A970 model which is kind of like the SA850 crossed with an Apple LED Cinema Display. Samsung have confirmed that they are all too aware of the issues people have been having with the first PLS generation and have made fabrication modifications for the new lineup. Should be an interesting release but no date has been given and seeing as it's Samsung that wouldn't be much reassurance anyway.
The SA970 caught my eye back in January after i tried a Hazro, which suffered from everyone of their QC issues.
I just want something that is 27 IPS, glossy, has no QC issues and isnt made by apple. I had pinned my hopes on the Samsung, your post would seem to suggest i may be disappointed?
I'll be hopeful. According to tracking it is now at the International Post Office (3rd step of the tracking journey)
How do 460s in SLI cope with this res out of curiosity?
It said they left a notice on the 26th, they did not. The notice came on the 27th and I paid it the same day, it was then delivered on the 28th as stated.
They cope fine, however i've only played team fortress 2! Happy to run any benchmark you want though?
This is how long mine took btw (personal info removed):

Seriously tempted by one of these Korean monitors.
One question though; do they suffer from the same problem as the Hazro monitors when it comes to the BIOS not displaying issue?
I presume though if I replaced my ageing 5770 with a 560ti or 7850, then it wouldn't be an issue anyway?
