There was a blatant dive against Boro away, that's 2 in a season that I can recall, hardly serial diver material.
Blatant dive. IF that's what you call getting out the way of Schwarzer. The referee even came out and said it was a penalty of 'intent' on behalf of the Middlesbrough keeper. That was a definite penalty.

"Getting out of the way of Schwarzer" and conveniently falling over at the same time.

Also on the "intent" claim, why would Schwarzer intend to come out and take out Ronaldo?

Not the penalty, he went past Boeteng iirc and clipped his own ankle intentionally. Don't think it lead to anything but it was a dive.

I didn't have Messi lower because he cheats, I have him lower than Ronaldo because he's not as good.
Ronaldo took more whacks than anyone I've ever seen in a Premiership last season, he just got up and got on with it. He got 2 bookings all season.

Messi took a massive dive for a penalty and got booked for it in his last game for Argentina earlier this week.

I'm not going to get into a discussion about if Ronaldo cheats or not, there's a video dedicated to his antics on youtube. Its quite clear you wouldn't stick up for him if he didn't play for Man U, but hey ho...

I watched a lot of (not all, but most) of Barcelona's games. Messi is quite poor a lot of the time, very lazy and doesn't do much. He also doesn't start many games.

To be fair to Messi on the work rate front he seems to track back a lot more for Argentina so given that Ronaldinho doesn't track back for Barca either maybe it's Rijkaard telling him not to bother?

As for Ronnie diving people highlight to 2 incidents from last season (Boro & Spurs of which their was intent both times) yet they struggle to name any other occasions. Yes he dived/went to ground a couple of times last season but compared to what he used to be like he's taken it out of his game no end. He's certainly not a serial diver that's for sure.

It's clear you're so Anti-Man Utd that as soon as anything pops up about them you jump on them. You want to focus more on the own failings of your club and their dirty history before you continue jumping on mine.

Last season Ronaldo cut everything out an incredible amount, there are much much worse players at every club (including Man Utd) yet he's always villified. Time and time again people always say Ronaldo is the biggest diver yet we have Gerrard and Lampard falling over every couple of minutes, no one ever mentions them. I would stick up for Ronaldo whether or not he did. I don't wear rose-tinted glasses to my own team, nor do I hound other players from rival teams purely because they are rivals (like you do) or because you don't like the team (like several other members here), Ronaldo deserves a lot more respect for what he's done to his game than he gets here.

As for Ronaldo for Portugal, yes he dived. But so did every other squad member on the Portuguese squad. Oddly enough, Brazil did the same in 2002. You want to be pointing the finger at Scolari there. It's been well documented that 'diving' is part of Portuguese culture, what we call diving here is called clever play over there.

You wanna get ready for Nani, from what I've seen he's shocking and from what I've heard he makes what we saw from Ronaldo when he first joined look like an angel.

Serial diver? Did you watch Man Utd last season, cause judging from that shocking excuse for a post, you never.

Fact is, Messi does dive. A lot. He also punched the ball into the back of the net and feigned injury to get someone sent off all in the end of season run in.

LOL.

You don't think Ronaldo dives?

I'll draw your attention to exhibit A-

Meanwhile Ronaldo did no wrong last season. It's blinkered people like you that are just out with tinted glasses that spout rubbish about stuff you are clearly uninformed about.

...and this is just laughable, you couldn't get any more hypocritical if you tried. :)

lmao at this thread, Ronaldo is a cheat, he will look for a foul at all times if he can, its in his blood to dive, plus you know when you have a bad diver on your hands he always looks to the ref as soon as he goes down with the puppy dog eyes , but Messi is a cheat also.

Ronaldo just has pace and power with that same little back hell thing, Messi has such a deft touch I would have both in my team but I rate Messi higher than Ronaldo.

Thats my opinion.

Oh do pipe down man,
I don't wear rose-tinted glasses to my own team
is the biggest BS Ive read as you're comments as you're comments in this thread justify this. I couldn't give a **** who Ronaldo plays for, the fact is he is a cheater and you need to start seeing past that lovely physique he has and see it for yourself.

Yes Messi cheats, but go on, admit Ronaldo does too... ;)

I've already set myself the target of not trolling on anti-Man U threads like last season, I respect a few Man U fans on here and their threads. Leeds' failings have nothing to do with anything so please don't try and use that against me, I've heard much worse.

Ronaldo DID cheat and DOES cheat for Portugal. However, for Man Utd he doesn't, last season his temprament was nothing short of outstanding. As I said, Man Utd do have cheats in the team, but Ronaldo isn't one of them.

Obviously I'm not one of them, which is a shame as I only try and be honest, but at the same time I won't stick to the same opinions as others, especially other fans who say Ronaldo cheats, yet you won't find a Man Utd fan on this board who will hold their hands up and say Ronaldo was a serial diver or cheat last season, because he wasn't.

Whilst the Leeds comment was probably out of order, I am riled by fans of other clubs who just take digs because Man Utd are who they are etc.. and you were anti-Man Utd last season, but over the summer you really haven't been, so I applogise for that, sorry.

However they rest of that post does stand true. Scolari is well known for telling his teams to cheat, he's been recorded in team talks and punished for it several times, as for cheating in Portuguese culture, again it's true.

If you watch the youtube link you'll see he did dive quite a few times last year, even when you don't include the Boro' incidents.

Wow, 1st one was contact and a penalty. 2nd one was dubious. 3rd one he got back up and tried to stay on his fight.
Edit: #4 wasn't a dive either, nor was #6.

So 2 from 6 so far. Authorative source this

Is this serious?
