YouFibre

In that YouTube video their CEO did last week, he said it's sort of a cardinal sin for altnets to overbuild each other. So if someone else starts rolling out before Netomnia/you commence, probably safe to assume they will pull the pin.

Keep an eye on http://bidb.uk to track companies roll out plans and http://one.network to track actual roadworks from those companies.
Thanks for giving me the willpower to stick it out. I‘ve received no emails despite registering and randomly checked the sign up page today and it’s live! I’ve signed up for 1GB and will call Virgin later to cancel :). Install day is the 11th!

Personally with a new install I would wait until it’s installed before cancelling, or at least have the cancellation date after the install. Just in case.

Completely logical. I think that the disconnect day won't be until November what with the 30 days notice period though.

I finally got round to giving these a call today and they are coming Saturday to activate everything etc. One thing the sales person said they may need to do is drill another hole for their infastructure. I already have a box outside of my house which feeds to the ONT as I'm FTTP. What happens to the ONT box? Youfibre don't use Openreach it seems. Will Openreach also remove the old box on outside of my house or can they use that in someway? I'm useless with things like this.

So when I signed up with Youfibre I was advised that I wouldn't get a static IP but due to not needing one with any ISP previously I thought nothing of it but since moving to these I've been having issues trying to get my self hosted VPN working with Wireguard on my Raspberry Pi.

Did the usual steps by running the install script and set it up with static IP, default port but with dynamic DNS service as I have one that I use if I don't have a static public IP with my ISP. Port opened in RPi firewall and also on the EERO app but when activating a connection I don't get any internet nor access internal LAN.

When I do a open port check online it can't see the open Wireguard port against my public IP. I then noticed what I think the problem is. My WAN IP doesn't match my public IP.

After speaking to Youfibre support they say because they are CGNAT the only way is to purchase a fixed IP from them which is £5 p/m extra which I'm a bit loathed to do.

Networking isn't my thing other than what I've tried above so is there anyway anyone can think of to bypass CGNAT?

When YouFibre was doing stuff in your area did anyone check bidb.uk?

This same phrase was all around my area but has now passed and no longer visible.

It was either "non-excavation. cabling / subduct" or "chamber installation" points around the town.

I contacted Netomnia and they have the most cookie cutter response.

"Currently, our build within this area is still within the design stages. We will work to complete and finalize our design. When this has been done, our dedicated team will build the spine of the network within your area, we aim to do this in the next few months. When the spine has been built we can begin to offer a suggested go live date for your community as we are able to calculate the remaining timescale for the infrastructure build.
As our build progresses we will keep the community informed by providing dates and having signage displayed in and around the community."

Like how can it be at the design stage if work orders to install chambers has apparently been done?

YouFibre/Netomnia made a couple of streets live here 1-2 years ago then nothing but in the last few weeks or so they've sprung to life again on bidb map so guessing they've finally got round to doing more. I wonder if these are using mini trench now as I think they've tended to mostly use existing telegraph poles? None of the work have any descriptions.

Our BT Contract comes to an end next month. Currently paying £69 for 900mb. Was going to join Zen for 900mb £55 but then I got a letter through my door saying you fibre are in the area.

Signing up to the 2000mb for £55 with a static IP.

Unless there is any reason to not join them?

2Gig? 250MB/s? Seems excessive.
