Your bad driving encounters

Didn't see it happen but some **** drove into my parked car last night. Obviously didn't leave a note, gonna canvas neighbours for camera footage. Why is it so hard to drive down a striaght road at 20mph without hitting anything?:confused:

drink or drugs

Just seen this thread so decided to share a recent near miss I had on my way to work. About a month back I was driving to work in the morning, on a slow sweeping bend the car approaching me from the other direction was veering towards me, not uncontrolled but not turning quite enough to stay in their lane, I moved over and mounted the verge to narrowly avoid a collision only to catch a glimpse of the woman driving the other car go past eating a yogurt with a spoon! I can only assume she was steering with her knees or something

Jeez, I drove from Derby to Cardiff and back last night. The roads are full of absolute morons!

There was a car dawdling in the middle lane, empty lane one. I gave a courtesy quick flash. They didn't move, so I moved into lane 1 since it was moving quicker and went passed.

I think this triggered the woman and she went absolutly bat poo crazy!! Kept overtaking giving me coffee beans shaking then slowing down again. I just pointed and laughed at her.

She then stayed behind me for miles, not up my rear close and just flashed and flashed her headlights. Was very odd. I joined in at one point just touching my brake pedal with my left foot to flash back at her. all very odd.

Too bad you broke code 110 of the highway code :p

I'm getting stuff like this a lot lately - people dawdling until you pass them or go to pass them when they speed up a lot, then after a bit slow down again - in most cases I believe just being clueless and stupid rather than intentional. It risks putting you in a bad position if you aren't careful. I think it is mostly people who are on the phone or talking to someone else in the car or otherwise more preoccupied with something other than driving and lacking any consideration for traffic around them.

There was an RTC outside my house yesterday.

Blue Honda pulled out and into a 72 plate Swift then careens into a 22 plate Yaris waiting on the opposite side of the junction

Honda driver refuses to accept responsibility even when police turn up, didn't check on any of the other parties.

Footage below. Credit: My next-door neighbour.

Fascinated by why they just went "F it, why put the brakes on, I've already crashed" and just carried on into the red car!

I was at the scene. I'm the guy you see walking up from left of frame before the collision. The Honda driver didn't seem to be on this planet. I ended up turning his car off & put the handbrake on as he left it. Breath and drug tested and clear.

Police have referred him for a driving assessment which is something but he's free to drive until then.

The swift owner lives nearby and been in touch today and Honda driver is apparently ignoring calls from his and their insurance companies.

Scary stuff.

Van on M25/A10 roundabout this morning, guy obviously on his phone, lights went green and traffic moved off in front but he just sat there. We were middle lane and left lane was clear so I went around. As I went round him I saw him look up from his phone, see the empty road in front of him (must have been deaf to all the people including me blowing their horns) and instead of setting off he looked back down at his phone for another 2-3 seconds before finally moving. I see some crazy stuff on london roads but never seen that before.

Yesterday, same roundabout, driving instructor driving her car, no passengers, absolutely terrible lane discipline. Well to the left side of the lane she was in, occasionally drifting a few inches into the lane to her left for no reason at all. I see such things regularly but was shocked and appalled to see from a driving instructor.

May not have been the driving instructor mind - their cars are often used by family, etc. (or sometimes by other instructors).

Let me guess, old person?

Hate stuff like that - there isn't much you can do to avoid it short of driving everywhere at like 15mph.

Someone should go CSI to see how fast the red car was going (still black cars fault though). Bet the other red car waiting at the give way point was kicking themselves for not getting out of there before the black car hit them.

Exactly what haopened to my 4GC. Parked on a completely straight 20mph road and some numpty smashed into another car hard enough to knock it into mine and write it off. Obviously not doing 20!

On the subject of speeding...I've just got done speeding for the first time in my life. 30mph road with 2 lanes, person in the left hand lane that I needed for the approaching roundabout was driving about 20mph and kept hitting the brakes, I moved over and had to speed up enough to get past and back into the left lane safely. Didn't realise the red light camera was also a speed camera. Done for 42 in a 30:mad:
