Your bad driving encounters

My son works for the ambulance service (newly qualified technician) and he's said that they are not allowed to push you into doing anything illegal. If they can't get through they have to wait.

The only place I wouldn’t move for an Emergency Vehicle is at a Red Light Camera if ever required to do so.

No way am I being punished for trying to do the right thing, people have done it and lost the argument.

I get why it’s controlled though as imagine if it was advised to go through red lights for emergency services, would cause so many tragic scenario’s and fake excuses as to why people went through a light.

Pulling into car park this morning, had followed a Juke for about a mile before this. Juke pulled into a parking space, I was still behind her at this point, she then threw it into reverse and floored it back out of the space (heard the revs before the car moved) Thankfully I have already stopped after hearing her rev, but the look of shock on her face when she spotted me was priceless until she started having a go at me for nearly hitting her.

Ah car parks... always a tricky one, though sounds a bit more clear cut in your case, as too many people try to push past when people are mid manoeuvre, etc. in my opinion. But a bit different if they've come to a stop rather than partially reversing out already.

Definitely clear cut on this one, she got fully into the space then stopped. If she was already backing out I would be courteous and allow her to continue. Or likewise if she had stopped then started backing out slowly due to lack of a decent view that would have been fine, it was the flooring it back out again that got me.

Honestly my band mates are complete morons.
So I mentioned one of them has been caught for a 4th time speeding but he has a good case for exceptional circumstances so we'll see.

Another band member has been caught 3 times in a short period, the first he's accepted a course, the second hasn't been dealt with yet and yesterday he was caught doing 98 on the motorway.
I'm pretty sure that over 95 is a ban let alone his other 2 offences :(

Just seen this and he is on a BIG wage, easily can afford two Gucci belts and drives a Tesla

It does sound like a ban should be given but I wonder if they will get one. Multiple offenses, 3 strikes you're out kind of system.

It's not, I was pulled doing 101 ended up with 6 points and a decent fine.

A colleague got caught by a camera doing the same as your band mate, messed them about by saying he needed a picture to see who was driving and then ended up with a final warning of "tell us who was driving or this gets a lot worse" and still only got 4 points and a much smaller fine than me.

Basically it's complete guesswork within the sentencing framework until you get the letter.

Quite possibly some of the blame lays with me for not giving Trevor half an hour to decide what lane he wants to be in, that, and i'm probably in his blind spot (there's no excuse for not hearing me though)..

To be fair, that roundabout is an absolute nightmare for people cutting into the outside lane to get onto the A14.

Looks like his left hand mirror is cracked? and almost definitely setup wrong, looks to be adjusted for reversing or maybe was recently clipped and not adjusted, rather than monitoring for traffic.

EDIT: Was going to say at least the roundabout is fairly well signed but actually not sure on that - the way both lanes are signed straight on, then one changes to right could be misinterpreted if not used to the roundabout.

did you really have to do sign language at the end of the video ?

i watched police interceptors years ago and they pulled over a biker (that was in the right) that stuck 2 fingers up at another motorist and got put in the coppers little black book and reported him

Doubt the police have the time to do that now. There's people saying mean things online that need harassing!

Sorry, but I think this is at least partially on you. As a biker myself I never rely on other people for my own safety. Yes, it looked like he was going to use the right hand lane, but as soon as he started to straddle that line you should have backed off and stayed behind until he'd made his mind up. He may have never been to that area before and was trying to work out where he needed to go. You were in his blind spot & you did not have a clear view of the roundabout when you pulled out. Calling him a ****** & pointing at your camera when you made things unnecessarily difficult is just the icing on the cake. Chill out and just be more patient. As a biker you should not be putting yourself in situations like that. It's not your job to punish people for making mistakes.

That's mostly on you TBH. Why go to dive straight up his inside when it looks like he's going in the right lane? Not exactly defensive riding or helping traffic flow.

The hand gesture and camera point just makes you look like a prize throbber. Why do cams make folk so self righteous and think it makes them king of the road?
