Your controversial gaming opinions?

- Valve and Blizzard are just as culpable for the lootbox debacle as EA.
Must agree on this. In fact, Valve are the gods of micro-transactions.

However, there are many here who will give their dignity in defence of Valve, a company who suck the life out of gaming in pursuit of profit.

Loot boxes aren't the problem, the implementation of them is. The day valve put loot boxes in that intentially give players god like stat increase over other players online is the day you can say Valve are as bad as EA.

The Witcher 3 is overrated.

The Witcher 3 is overrated.

how many people have to agree with you for it to be not controversial?

cod3 was the best cod game, the online multiplayer was unparalleled fun with a much better community and had yet to be spoiled by the utter trash that is this rank up/prestige nonsense which is basically a measurement of how little of a life you have.

the arma series of games are trash, i'm sorry fanboys but they're trash, the controls are way way more convoluted than they need to be, and whilst it may have impressive open worlds, physics and graphics it's all built on an engine that is a laggy, buggy piece of urine that can't handle everything they've chucked at it. they could have so so much potential if they actually worked.

any game that is principally a survival or exploration game that suddenly features random zombies for no apparent reason is garbage (hi uncharted theif and tomb raider remakes)

the only thing worse than die hard apple fanboys are isis and die hard nintendo fanboys, in that order, how anyone could have any brand loyalty left for what's effectively a recycling company rather than a game company astounds me.

assassins creed 3 is a good game, i don't get the hate for it, likewise unity is a terrible game and i dont get how people could like it.

i dont get the love for the metro series, sure there's some bits are pretty cool (like the gun animations) but it's missing something, same goes for fallout although maybe i just don't do post-apocalyptic.

any game that gives you a gun and very little ammunition, just no, really no, please god no, if you're going to give me a gun GIVE ME SOME GODDAM BULLETS

vanilla minecraft, especially it's early versions, was so terrible i'm amazed enough people liked it to make the mods that turned into a playable, even enjoyable, game.

I think Bethesda games, or more specifically Skyrim and Fallout 4, are boring. Admittedly I haven't really played Skyrim, but I did put quite a few hours into Fallout 4 when it came out, and I was just a bit lost with what to do and why.

I also think the same with Destiny 2. I installed it yesterday and whilst I'm only level 7 or so, there seems to be no fluidity or explanation of lore, game mechanics etc. I am enjoying it though, as I'm just treating it as a pretty Borderlands without as many boxes to loot. :D

Half Life 2 is the most overrated game in history. It was only ever useful for testing Graphics Card OCs looking for sparklies.

Related to that Gabe Newell is one of the most evil people in gaming but much like Jobs did with the Apple brand he's fooled people into thinking he's some kind of gaming socialist god putting it to the "man" and imparting beatific Nirvana to the great unwashed when in fact he is the "man"

As I've got older I prefer using a controller to mouse and keyboard.
Origin and uPlay are just as good as Steam.

- Half Life 2 is vastly overrated and an average game at best.
- Overwatch is a boring cartoon shooter cash cow. Blizzard's TF2..
- CSGO and its teenagers have sullied the glory of Counterstrike
- Destiny is beyond cringe-worthy and a rip off of PSO

- The Steam Controller is the best controller ever made. Period.

Wow. :p

I hate finely balanced games. Asymmetric gameplay rules. Take BF2 for example, the most fun I had in that game was trying to steal the enemy Blackhawk helicopter on Maasture City to use against their own team because it was so stupidly overpowered.

Contrast and compare to BF1 where both sides get the same tanks/planes/airships whatever. No no no no no - historically inaccurate and horribly symmetrically boring!

that is a valid point, having it mis-matched takes the sting out of losing and means all you concentrate on is putting up a good fight
