Your current Fish tank Setups!

what would be the best way to use rowaphos. through a filter sock in the sump or can i use a media reactor? its a kent bio reef tank i have.

Carbon pelets just polish the water they wont be helping your problem to be honest.

Id put money on you having high nitrates personally.

If you really dont wanna run anything to reduce the phosphate and nitrate id start with a 50% water change now and maybe a 20% monday. Also try changing the poly filter (filter floss?) every other day as these become nitrate sponges very quickly when the fill with detritus.

You might get away with chucking a bag of seachem pruigen (thunk thats what its called) its aluminium based so wouldnt recoment if you kept corals, doesnt need to Be in a reactor like rowaphos and water changes will be the only way to reduce your nitrates without some kind of chemical intervention

thanks mate. im going to try the rowaphos. it is more than likely to be phosphates. i ran another nitrate test and came back with about 3 ppm

if i reduce the phosphates and in turn reduce the algae, will that help the algae that's already present or am i in for a good scrubbing?

I used to use rowaphos but it's to dirty, and i spilt a tub on the carpet
seachem phosguard is what i use now, much much cleaner and not far behind Rowa, just have to change a bit more often, then i use Agent green to strip away any left over Phosphate.
You could be putting Nitrates in the tank even with water changes, what are your TDS readings with the RO water.

My modded sump:)

I just got a tiny Randalls Pistol Shrimp, can it paired with the Yellow Watchman Goby? also what is best to feed to make it grow quicker? Thanks

Hi all, kept this away for a few years had fertilser substrate and had nothing but trouble over the years with clogging filters and plants coming up due to the light nature of the stuff.

Anyway this morning I've had a nice clean and added some heavy gravel so this is my current set up custom built tank in between the kitchen and extension.

Thanks for looking

Looks good

I have let my tank go for a while I have a few plants well what is left of them and three neon's

The tank is 125L any ideas on what to stock with? plant wise I have Co2 but still limited by light output
