Espresso, skimmed milk and lots of food. And sleep.

I've found supplements do not very much for me, but skimmed milk helps me relax afterwards. Pharmacists have proven that caffeine stops athletes flagging, too, so the more (around 300g - something like six Pro Plus tablets) the merrier. 300mg, by the way, is what professional cyclists stoke themselves with.

When I was at university doing Sports Science, I really wanted to study the effect of watching porn on (ahem) muscle growth due to its ability to increase circulating testosterone for short periods of time... although I suspect any study subjects wouldn't have spent much time working out, but hey.

I wonder if any of you guys take any glucosamine (along with some super omega 3 from MP)? I bought some in the hope it would help my joints a little more when running (sprinting). Advised 1000mg a day, do you guys take this? and have you seen any difference?

For joints I would look at a few things Kappa.

You want a combination of glucosamine, msm and chondrotin.

bought them in these amounts, mixed them all together in a big tub and used to have 3x servings per day.

100g Chondroitin,
200g Glucosamine,
200g MSM.

This makes a 1:2:2 ratio and it worked well. I did this over 12 months ago and haven't used any joint supplements since

Depends wether it's for sore joints or just preventative?

Try 1.5g 3x times a day if you have sore joints, less if not

Theres 2 posts that were posted by Chong over on myproteins forum.

Buying in this sort of bulk is much much cheaper than any high street or pre made prices

Heres the link just incase you want to read the thread http://forum.myprotein.co.uk/showthread.php?t=15833&highlight=msm

I ordered on the 10th, I'm not a patient person:mad:

I have sent an email today asking when I can expect delivery as my card was charged on the 11th Feb and as most companies seem to only charge when goods are actually shipped.

Have yours turned up yet?

I'm sure the fish my oils are coming from are still swimming around lol.

No not yet

Got a reply from my email saying that my order was dispatched on the 11th Feb but to allow 5-10 working days for delivery.

Don't know of any delivery service that takes that long even 2nd class is 3 working days:confused:

Totally off-topic, but can I ask the people that ordered from SimplySupplements for the first time, does this experience put you off using them again?

Doubt if I will bother, too impatient and I'd rather pay a little bit extra to get stuff the next day

I was annoyed the first time, but they sell a couple of things I want so I don't have to order from multiple places.

I just remember to order a few things quite a bit in advance.

If they have any kind of brains within the organisation I am sure they will recognise this as an issue and will be working on it.

I must admit its not a good first impression, but if I'm impressed with the goods I may well order again allowing for the long delivery time.

yes, but im too lazy to find the same product elsewhere... so ill just order again knowing delivery is going to take ages.

tsst.co.uk have free delivery... free NEXT DAY delivery, much better imo

Mine arrived today too :D

I can forgive the delivery time as they come from the Channel Islands, next time I will order in advance.

Mine came in 3 packages & the postman joked about the amount of pills I am taking

You should have told him it was a brilliant cover for all the crack your taking and invited him inside to take some. That would have turned it around somewhat.. :D:D

Glad to see everybody's stuff is coming now though. I was wondering weather to use that company or stick with MP. Think i'll probably stick with MP though, as they have been very good to me in the past.

Think they must have had stock issues with these, because mine turned up after 10 days today as well.

I've never taken fish oil before, but these gave me a banging headache for 6 hours, made me feel a bit sick in the stomach for most of the day and gave me terrible indigestion with awful fishy burps! However, I didn't take them with proper food which may improve the digestive bit, I'll try again tomorrow or its back to flaxseed for my Omega 3 I think.

I've only recently started training and I've been getting a bit of pain and aching in my knees and clicking ankles. Any suggestions? I've got some Glucasamine Sulphate 1000mg to try initially - was just going to take 1 a day?

How many did you take in one go? If you took a few try spliting the dose and taking them with a meal.
