Your first car

VW
MK1 Polo 895cc.
About £100 IIRC.

I wish I still had it, it's probably 'retro cool' now.

Make: Citroen
Model: Xantia 1.9 TD SX
Price: £1200

Was a great first car. The running costs of a Fiesta 1.3 but more performance, more comfort, and... a bit different to a Fiesta, I guess.

That was a proper first car as well, none of this cheating by driving around in other peoples cars and lease cars for 3-4 years so I can then say I got a 330d Sport as my first car, EH NICK :p

Make: Peugeot
Model: 106 1.5D XL
Price: £2000 (My father kindly bought it for me)

It's quite economical returning 60mpg when careful, I never get
below 50mpg when thrashing it). Despite it being French, nothing
and I mean nothing has gone wrong with it. It's only had 2 services
and 2 mot's since I've owned it.

The bad things about this car are: It has a noisy unrefined engine.
It's excruciatingly slow (~17s-18s to 60). Uncomfortable when driving
much over 30 miles due to the offset pedals and poor seats.
No power steering + heavy diesel engine make parking a chore.

Neil.

:D

Bah, foiled! Ok, my first real car was a brand new Mk5 Golf TDI last year. I got rid of it because it got too old :(. Oh wait, actually I still seem to have it... :p

Peugot
306 Dturbo S (1996 N)
£1450

Love the style/interior(apart from the doorpins have fallen out)/engine(once its warm). But starting an old school diesel at 7am in the winter is not fun.

Looking for a ghia x atm, but my mum thinks "theyre to expensive to repair"

My mate has a 95 DTurbo, he bought it just after I got my Mondeo. I won't say who has spent by far the most on repairs in that time :D

Renault
Clio 1.2 16v Dynamique+
£4800

Had it up until last thursday, loved it to pieces and it never failed me once despite taking quite abit of abuse and being french.
Liked it so much I replaced it with another one but with a bit more go in it.

Ford
1997 Mondeo 2.0 Ghia
£1650

Loved it. Fantastic car and, for the age/mileage, absolutely stunning condition. Had loads of cars since but none were as good all-round :(.

Yeah don't i know it, i had a HGF and it needs a new rad, but i prefer running with only half a rad of water and saving my £200 :o (foolish i know).

But because its bigger, it means its more expensive DUH!! And because its a 2.0, it means i'll slide it into a bush at 180mph, christ there only half a second quicker than my car (9.98 :p).

Nothing exciting.

My first car was an N reg (96) Peugeot 306 1905cc DTurbo.

It was fun to drive to begin with but then I got bored with it, but then again I did put 10,000 miles on it within 2-3 months. It had some slightly larger tyres fitted to it (195/50/15) and it handled quite well.

Not exactly a rocket ship but it was faster than any of my friends cars so I was happy. :p

Screw mod!11!1oneone ;)

Ford
2000 Fiesta 1.25 zetec 16v
£2900

Great little first car and only 25k on the clock, not had any problems yet(apart from getting it vandalised:/)
For a 1.25 it goes well, much better than my mums 1.2 punto.
